Swapping the module changed the sound modes?
It's not supposed to do that. It's only supposed to affect the suspension, not the steering, throttle response, gauge display, or sound, i.e., the other things that are mode-related.
Hmmm. Surprised my local Acura dealer hasn't received my order yet. I would have expected that the dealers would receive them either concurrently or ahead of the online vendors.
I was thinking the omission of the sunglasses holder up there was the issue. I miss having that thing. For all the talk the past couple years of what a great, usable interior the Civic offers, to me it seems fairly lacking in interior storage space. Not a lot of cubbies.
I presented a number of valid arguments. I didn't only speak to your "pain" hyperbole. Like I said, on rough roads, yes, Sport and +R are overly bouncy. On normal-ish roads, Comfort mode is perfectly fine. On smooth roads, all three modes are fine. It takes an extremely bumpy road before Comfort...
A "vortex of pain"?
Ummm...no. Let's not go overboard here. An overabundance of vertical oscillations? Yes. Pain? No. It's also not true that "any canyon road" triggers the bounciness in any mode. It needs to be a bumpy road, and you need to be in Sport or +R. The road has to be extremely rough...
That's better than my online vendor gave me. When I called and asked for any sort of an ETA after receiving my backorder notice, the guy answered, "Could be a week, could be a month, could be a year or more. We have no idea."
Now you really have me curious. There are upwards of 10,000 2024 FL5s allocated to North America?
I thought our FL5s were much more limited in numbers than that. Perhaps I was wrong.
A quick Google search tells me there are currently 1,073 Honda dealers in the United States, 131 of which are...
I wonder what the total number of ITS module-seeking FL5 owners actually is. A few hundred, maybe? A thousand or so, tops? Whatever it is, including ITS owners who might require one for their crashed cars/failed modules, Acura should be able to keep up with such a small number.
How many FL5...
On a different note, does anyone here know why there is such a lengthy backorder on parts for a 2024 Acura model? We're well past the Covid issue, so what's the holdup? If I had a crashed ITS or a malfunctioning ITS module and I needed this part to get my car back on the road, what would be...
Awww, crap.
I was scheduled to receive my IDS module on April 4th, but I woke up to this email this morning...
THIS PART IS ON NATIONAL BACKORDER WITH NO E.T.A. WOULD YOU LIKE TO KEEP IT ON ORDER OR CANCEL IT?
THANK YOU
On the one hand, I'm tempted to cancel it, to prevent a situation in...
Acura OEM Parts Online (acura.oempartsonline.com) just accepted my order and payment for the ITS module. They charged only $214.99 plus shipping (vs $310 from my Acura dealer, which is still pending with no ETA), with a scheduled delivery date of April 4th.
I guess we'll see whether it actually...
None of that sounds like it changes the suspension behavior over time, or learns, or adapts. Instead, it makes real-time adjustments based on the current speed.
Doesn’t sound like anything will change for me then.
I'm not really a glutton for punishment, yet I can't help but switch to +R after a while, any time I try Sport mode. This is my first car with drive modes, so I'm always playing with them, wanting to learn everything I can about each one.
Bottom line, I really don't want the suspension to be...
Yep, I already figured out how to switch the color in the LogR display, but I want to switch it in the main display too. Apparently that's not an option. LogR only, it seems.
Updates...
Finally had the opportunity to bring the car back to the selling dealer to check whether they performed the two other PDI items I was worried they'd skipped, since they skipped setting the tire pressures. They immediately put the car on the lift and we checked together, confirming...
I put in the order at my Acura dealer within two days of buying my Type R. I initially tried ordering it online, but all the usual vendors weren't accepting orders for that part number. "Discontinued," "Unavailable," "Out of stock," etc. The parts guy at Acura told me he couldn't give me an ETA...
It absolutely makes sense, insofar as critics of the CTR module feel that the problem with the CTR's suspension performance isn't the stiffness, per se, but rather the overabundance of damping. Topher's main point was that the suspension behaves differently, and better, with the ITS module; not...
I could be wrong, but I've read/heard that there are more differences between the ITS and CTR modules than simple stiffness levels. Topher mentioned that the adaptive behaviors change, as well, which aids in reducing the bounciness. For example, Comfort with the CTR module is bouncier than the...
