I did it in "Sport" so I could run Individual mode and have more compliance over curbs. I find it's the sweet spot baseline with the out of the box DSC settings for me.
I also run pedal dance mode on track so having it be part of +R doesn't really matter for me since I never use it.
I went +5% on front rebound and +7% on rear. As long as you're smooth on the brakes the car has nice entry rotation and minimal mid-corner push.
The camera is a GoPro Hero 10 Black and I've just got a gorilla pod wrapped around the passenger seat. It's a little bouncier than I would like but...
Update on my DSC experience. I've now done Road Atlanta, NCM Motorsports Park, Nashville Super Speedway, and Ozarks International Raceway over the last ~6 months, and I'm incredibly happy with the controller.
I finally started doing some tweaking to the OTS mapping, using the traditional...
I struggled with the same thing (P0087 code) at NCM when I was there last month. I was filling the car up after each session but still had an issue on straights right after technical sections.
The common thing between the sections was me short shifting to 4th to go flat early and then the car...
Had a chance to do an autocross over the weekend on a relatively bumpy sealed lot and came away really impressed. I ran in Sport suspension mode the whole time and the car just ate the bumps while also rotating beautifully off throttle. Another CTR was there with a National Champion driver...
Not sure about the pre-production vs full production units, but DSC is definitely legit. They have a ton of great videos about how the modules work and guides on tuning. My experience is the baseline calibration was pretty good, but you also have a lot of options for adjusting how the shocks...
It's the same as the OEM module - it's just the board that fits into the OEM housing which provides protection/mounting. I was confused initially until I saw how the OEM unit mounted.
I have one of the 3d-printed units but I'm assuming the final production ones will be the same.
The biggest advantage with coilovers is being able to run higher/stiffer spring rates, and have whatever front/rear spring stiffness balance you want. You can also adjust things like rake to mess with weight balance. Lowering springs can get some of these things, but coilovers usually use...
Thanks! Having driven only RWD cars there before, I described it to my friends as everything that's scary at Road ATL is things that FWD, and especially the CTR, are good at, so you can be pretty aggressive in ways that don't work as well in RWD.
The car definitely has a 36 in it and might...
tldr: DSC Sport was great on track and I highly recommend it
Quick update from my weekend trip to Road Atlanta.
DSC has been super responsive to my questions and gave me the latest working version of their updated firmware and base tune. I flashed it on Thursday night before driving down from...
The controller comes with presets for the existing modes but you can also adjust how the shocks act within the different modes around 0-100% stiffness vs g-force, speed, steering, etc, along with traditional bump and rebound overlays.
There may be some baseline calibration of "what is zero" and...
Had some good discussion with the folks at DSC about some questions I had after playing around with the controller I thought I would pass along.
The first is that the current version of the software doesn't show the TypeR as a vehicle option. They said they are working on an update, but to...
Installed my DSC controller yesteday. Took about 30 minutes, most of which was going slowly and getting the back seat out. I got one of the 3D printed pre-production units that uses the factory braket for installation (not sure if the production units will be the same). Good quality and no...
35 hot is a solid starting point for almost any tire for lapping sessions - you can keep an eye on the outside shoulder of the fronts to get an idea how much it's being scrubbed and go up or down based on that. 28~30 cold like Josh mentioned should get you around that range.
Other than that...
