In my experience with direct injected engines, you can't judge the quality of the oil by the color. It turns black almost immediately. It was likely still fine. I'm more curious why you changed the MTF so soon?
Update on the above: they do not suck!
They are mostly made of aluminum, and they store completely flat in the molded slots on the cargo mat. I'm pleased.
You would need to present a quote for repair of the damages caused by the pothole. At a minimum that's a new tire, but I'll be shocked if that wheel isn't also out of balance now. Get reasonable quotes. You can go ahead and get repairs. Then submit your claim. Worst case scenario they determine...
I think that's the best design from Titan7 for this chassis. I have 19" +45 TS-5's that I kept from my FK8. I don't think they work as well on the FL5. I prefer this as it resembles a ZE40 or the OEM forged wheels. I'm moving away from +45 wheels and trying to track down a set of the OEM...
I am not a lawyer, but I do work with tort claims. If the DOT knew about the pothole before you hit it, you should check Texas state law. The DOT is generally allowed a "reasonable" amount of time to fix the pothole once they become aware of it. If that "reasonable" timeframe had already passed...
When I’m driving around town I don’t bother with a spare, but I do throw one of my track tires in the back if I’m going more than an hour from home. So far I haven’t needed it.
Followed the directions above and got this done today. I had to do a very similar mod on my FK8 to get the same functionality. In that case, no additional switch was needed, only the wire. It's nice to have the switch. I wish I knew why Honda has now left this basic functionality out of two...
Big weekend. Installed the project aero front lip, the OEM backlit door sills, and did the map light mod. I had to do the same mod to make the map lights work properly in my FK8. Not sure why Honda leaves out the 5 cents of wire needed to make it work. I didn't post about it, but last weekend I...
I use two jacks. A small racing jack at the pinch weld to get the front up enough, then slide the big Daytona low profile in far enough to hit the front jack point. While I appreciate the improved aerodynamics of the FL5, the rear lower airdam covering the rear jack point is a bit more of a pain...
Hard to say. Since these were left over from my FK8 they are a 2022 date code. The grip is reduced just due to the age of the tires at this point. Turn in is still very sharp. Not a huge difference there.
Mirror is in. I bought an MDX mirror instead of an Accord mirror. I'm guessing they are the same part number, but I didn't verify that. I had no issues getting the clips engaged on mine. My biggest issue was getting to the grounding screw for the wiring harness. Pretty tight quarters under...
I would go for a more track oriented tire than a PS4S. It’s hard to imagine not destroying them tracking in Texas heat. I haven’t tracked my FL5 yet, but I was partial to Bridgestone RE71RS on my FK8. They held up better in the heat than the PS4S could ever hope to.
I have 255/35-19 on 45 offset Titan7 wheels. I do get a smidge of torque steer, but I think that’s more from the offset change than the larger sidewall. When I replace them I will go for 265/35 or 275/30. The speedometer is off by a little bit, but no noticeable changes in acceleration. I like...
Rattles. I have put about 8 ft of felt tape and a bunch of foam in the dash and door cards. After a year I'm finally happy with the interior noise. My FK8 rarely rattled. I think part of it is the stereo. It's actually quite good in the FL5. It was garbage in the FK8, but the total lack of low...
I'm on 255/35 R19 wheels/tires left over from my FK8. I would think that the 0-60 time would be faster since you should hit it at the top of second gear now. I bet 60-130 is a bit slower though.
I spoke too soon on the wheels. Rant time: Why on earth in 2026 do all automotive based retailers take your money without question and then email you afterwards to tell you they don't have the part and probably won't have it for months/years? This was a dealership. They knew full well they...
