Hi,
I really like folding mirrors and had them on prior cars.
But, I was always worried about the cost to fix them and for the civc type R I am a big believer in KISS...less weight. less motors. less moving parts.....so I actually like for this car the lack of them.
Less is more.
I bought Verus little blocks designed to clamp onto the pinch welds where you jack ...protecting them. Chose red. Mechanic LOVES them (as do I)....eacy to find, function well. Tire shop loved it too..... My jack works find with them.
The +60 is so that the front suspension has little to no torque steer.
Having tried the Forged OEM wheels and some other more common Forged 18" wheels with 200 track tires with a "better" stance, the +60 DROVE superiorly to me because I don't like torque steer.
So, as I bought the car to drive...
This is from a Facebook post by Mr. Brereton. dated 6/3/2025.
Based on my experiences on other platforms and with a lot of prior track time, I think he may be (edited from "is") correct.
The Type R FL5 (what we have) is near perfect. Be mindful that perfect is really hard to achieve...balance is...
My playing with Gemini High end for a few minutes and adding some editorial:
For the Honda Civic Type R (FL5), Verus Engineering is the primary aftermarket company that consistently publishes detailed aerodynamic data (but they have not released their FL5 parts yet....), while HKS provides...
Just like those without an R should not install a a huge wing (unless balanced with full car aero..front, and perhaps even with side data considered), those with an R should not delete without knowing what you are doing.....
Honda tested the car and what they sold was optimized. Their...
JDC customs can do black, silver, gold, rainbow.....it looks the same save no "bezel rehaut" but not sure if they did it...they absolutely could - and black does go exactly with the dash...so cudos to chuck76. I like it a lot too! Fit is perfect for the record. See pictures in the plastic...
As a GT car owner and 993 owner....the Rennlist thread is your friend...the GT3 crowd moved it as it was probably seen as too threatening....and disruptive to their discussions on paint color and thread color matching with leather steering columns (those are big time issues nowadays as the GT3...
I have a 2025...no rattles. Too young to see reliability issues but after a year and a bit feels like brand new after using it for "canyon runs" and everything else. It is a Honda - taking care of it....it takes care of you is my philosophy. So have done short OCI's.
There are serious track...
I loved the idea...and they looked very closely at the Acuity (and stock, don't have a Hybrid racing one) - the issue is the plane of the plate is lower than the clamp on the rod....so simply may not fit unless you make a sort of dome/bubble/raised level for the gated plate. To me, that...
Every "car person" who sees it is just blown away. Seems like it is sort of OEM...so call it OEM+ given the hex pattern is a match. No issues after a few weeks. Recommended.
Cool idea (gaited). Very.
For me: I want to be able to see the acuity shifter as I find the mechanism itself elegant and nice to look at...so if I did gaiting I'd want the mesh that JDC used in most of it too just to see things...having it worked out in 3D is really key, agree with you. JDC...
Price will likely come down if a lot get sold, so in theory if all of you want them..it could get cheaper. I have nothing to do with JDC save I was a customer and they were willing to try this idea out with me. I saw intermediate steps - there is talent and work in this thing...a lot of it...
Ask them...I like the branding actually....they made such a good piece that it sort of supports them. Think rehaut (spelling?) on an R brand watch....it is very tasteful in person....actually adds to it. The coloring of the text is next level stuff.
The shifter says acuity.... I like to...
Well, this is sort of a fun post - did an acuity shifter. Great update. Then did an acuity extension rod in stainless (to add weight and height....they have ti and may go there later, but went stainless steel). Then found a Tokyo made recycled skateboard knob in 1.5" diameter (same as stock and...
