No interest in buying a longblock personally. I’ve put heads together for other cars, I’d rather just put it together myself. Better valves, springs and keepers are all these cars need to hit 8K. I have no plans of revving that high anyway, I’ll probably cap it at 7500, the cars don’t make that...
They don't mark the C1 specifically. K series is all grouped together. You select the bore you want which indicates your specific engine. In the K20C1s case, 86mm.
After spinning a rod bearing in my FL5, I'm looking at having the motor built because it's somehow the same price as buying an OEM shortblock from Honda. Currently I'm between RameyRacing's Turbo Street shortblock and 4Pistons Built Shortblock, both are similarly priced, though 4Piston charges...
Fully prepared to machine the block. I have experience with motorcycle engines, grew up racing them, so fixing them is part of the game. I'll know more upon disassembly.
A lot of people have shared the same sentiment. Full disclosure, I'm not 100% sure what happened. I'm looking into contacting Honda to see about maybe getting the motor good willed/ getting some form of compensation. My opinion is the tune. I was running a Phearable tune. I rented a dyno and had...
The trans was my own fault. 100% I own that. Long story short: I was unaware the trans cooler used trans fluid. The blue trans fluid made me think I was draining coolant and I stupidly didn’t bother to look into it any further even though I knew it was weird.
As far as I know this didn’t impact...
Well it finally happened. After 65 thousand miles of daily pulls at 400WHP, the motor called it quits. Cant say I'm surprised, just figured the motor had more time. Seems to me that I spun a rod bearing. Shit happens, I'm in good spirits.
I need help putting together a parts list, I'm a bit...
Currently running Milltek's non resonated catback with a valve, but I'm looking at going catless. Does anyone have an experience doing something similar? I'm particularly worried about drone, WOT volume doesn't concern me. A buddy of mine completely got rid of the drone in his Focus ST by going...
Initially he thought it was shifter linkage, it’s hard to describe but it felt like the car was trying to engage two different gears at the same time. After removing everything in the way of the cables and seeing no adjustments he was confused, and then after playing with it for around an hour...
Also I think its worth noting that I did find the home for both bolts that were on their own lol, both were for the radiator bracing and were positioned in a way that I couldn't see where they belonged from underneath the car. The only reason doing this job was much of a struggle is because of...
You’ll always hear some level of noise especially at lower RPMs. I’d say use your better judgement on that one because before mine broke I would always here slight noises in lower gears at low RPMs.
Today after getting the car back (yay) I was told that the internal pump went bad somehow. I would’ve liked to keep it and actually asked for a piece but the trans was sent to the engineers so they could do their own breakdown as a condition of the warranty.
Cause was determined to be a pre-existing malfunction with the 5th gear synchro that didn’t reveal itself until the new clutch was installed. Once the new clutch was installed it basically allowed the 5th gear to eat itself alive which stopped the fluid from working properly subsequently ruining...
Yeah it didn’t take much to sway me away from e85. Like I said I was on the fence about it anyway.
I’m not necessarily looking for crazy power numbers, honestly I’m more so after the sound I’d gain by doing these mods but obviously I want to make sure the motor stays safe. Plus who can say no to...
