Well it finally happened. After 65 thousand miles of daily pulls at 400WHP, the motor called it quits. Cant say I'm surprised, just figured the motor had more time. Seems to me that I spun a rod bearing. Shit happens, I'm in good spirits.
I need help putting together a parts list, I'm a bit out of my depth on this one. I have personally done complete rebuilds on dirtbikes and four wheelers but nothing this size. I do fully intend on doing the build myself. I will have help- I have a buddy who's been building engines for years, and my dad was a master tech for GM for 30 years so that's not my concern. I just really don't know what to buy.
For rods I was thinking Skunk2 Alpha Series
For pistons I was thinking either CP or Wiseco, leaning more to Wiseco as they've never ever let me down.
As for main and rod bearings I'm clueless, looking for recommendations big time on this one
For head studs I'm curious about what people have heard about the InlinePRO M-Series, still open to suggestions
Gaskets and whatnot are simple enough, I'll just go with cometic, been running their stuff for years
Since there's more than likely debris in the engine, will I more than likely need a new oil pump? What other things should I look for?
Any and all help greatly appreciated.
