Shouldn't I see more boost than when I was stock? I still only get 17psi after installing stage 1.

Thank you, I understand that but my question specifically is shouldn't I see MORE boost than what I saw when stock? After installing Stage 1 about a month ago, max boost is still 17psi, which I saw stock.

You must be playing with me and I am a good sport :)
I agree with your info and I thank you for your time but if you are seeing the same boost before and after tuning, in the same conditions, something is amiss.

Let me ask a different question:
What are the differences in the tune w/DP vs without downpipe? AND will the w/DP tune damage a stock catalytic converter. Thanks in advance.

If you actually have a Hondata, then yes.
So ktuner's calibrations never had any issues or needed to be update for the 2019 CTR's with A21 ECUs?

I thought it was something that needed to be updated for the software, regardless if you used hondata or ktuner...meaning something was slightly different about the A21 ECUs (pressure ratio limit table not being updated and the 2019 FK8 would make less power than the 2018)?

No update necessary. We actually verified that the calibrations worked prior to releasing them to the public.

ah, didn't realize you guys tested it on the A21 ECU....thought the calibrations came out before the 2019s rolled out.

Man, I'm not sure what you're saying...the ECU was different between the 2019 and previous models from what we're seeing.

But basically, you are saying that all your calibrations were tested on all versions of the FK8 ECUs.

Edit: Appears this confirms it...assuming that it was tested that A21 ECUs were indeed seeing full boost:

http://ktuner.com/KTunerHelp/version_history.htm
  • Version 1.0.8.7
  • New Unlocking Process For V1.2 On Supported ECUs
  • New KTuner Assistant When First Launching The Software
  • 2019 Type-R Support For 37820-5BF-A21 through A22

Getting the calibration requires reading the ECU.

Reading an ECU calibration (In this case 2019) can't really be done until the vehicle has been rolled out since you need the ECU in order to do so.

Sorry, I was making assumptions that you guys had only tested the pervious versions of the FK8 ecus when you said getting the calibration from the ECU.

The OP just sounded like he was having a similar issue that hondata users were having prior to their v3.3.3 update. Hopefully his ktuner is updated? (not sure he bought it 2nd hand or not). I understand elevation causes these differences, but it sounds like he's not making any noticeable power...which is odd, I definitely felt it when running stage 1.

For the OP, try unlocking ktuner to put the factory calibration on, erase all the calibrations on the module. Then I'd go test your car out right after to see how much boost your getting...then sync ktuner back to your ecu after ensuring an update...then upload stage 1 and compare that to the factory one...hopefully that helps lol
