Hi All,

I'm selling my almost brand new CTR in Championship White with near delivery miles. The car still has all the interior protective covers on including even the wrap protecting the driver's door sill. If you're a collector, I also have the Japanese version of the sticker window (see the trunk picture), which I heard some people are interested in? The car has also been ceramic coated. Selling because as you can see from the low miles, I have no time to drive this thing. I'm asking $53k. You'll pay much more than that after taxes in Socal. Title in hand.

My understanding is that DMVs will still tax buyers based on the $53k. Buyers still pay tax on pre-owned cars and it’s due when they go to register the car at the DMV. So in effect this has a $7k markup over MSRP. OTD price would be close to $59k. Just a PSA to interested buyers. GLWS! Car looks amazing!

Yeah unfortunately it won't work out like that. If the buyer declares a value that is out of line, it'll get flagged for under-reported value and he'll get a supplemental bill and penalties with it.

You mean commit tax fraud together?
Just an fyi, Riverside is asking 50k for new ones, dtla Honda is at msrp and both norm reeves and galpin sold ones for 48k last month.

I just called Riverside and they only have a blue one and won't disclose prices unless you go in the store. Called Galpin and they're asking $5k over MSRP. Called Norm Reeves and they're saying $13k over for a white one! Sure you can negotiate down but you're claiming just $2k over from them asking $13k over? Downtown LA has ZERO TypeR's available and said they don't have any coming in. So I'm not sure where you're getting your information, but I just called these places and this is the current info.

I see several threads selling 2023 models with over 1000 miles asking $51k up to $56k. I don't think I'm asking a crazy price here... I'm open to offers.

Did you see the part where I said last month? There was a member here that posted they purchased one from Norm Reeves at $1600 over in accessories. I personally know someone that purchased a cw last month for $1500 over. Some sales guy at Riverside posted 49,999 for any of their type Rs in stock on FB.

It’s a fluid market in SoCal but anyone who is going to take the time to make an account and come on a forum can do 30 minutes of research to see that prices have come down across the board.

As far as other private party sales asking 50k+, it just feels way higher compared to recent new car sales but people are free to ask. Like another member said, 52k and TTL makes this a 58-59k used purchase. It just feels a bit difficult to stomach when only a bit of in person negotiation can get 3-5k on a new car and 1-2k over has been happening also with timing and more negotiating.

If your data is from last month, then it's not as relevant. As you said the market is fluid. Prices go up and down. Maybe last month it was down. But like I said, I just called those places you mentioned and that's the prices I'm seeing now. I also wouldn't trust what a sales guy says online or over the phone. I've experienced that BS bait and switch when I bought my car. I got quoted MSRP at 2 places. One later changed and claimed someone bought the car the day before I was supposed to come in and asked if I wanted another color at above MSRP. The other did the same when I arrived at the dealership. They use this tactic to get you in the door.

What I've seen is when the weather gets warmer, the prices start going back up.

Again, I'm open to offers. Discussion about prices like this violates this forum rule:

Rule #5 - No "threadcrapping." Classifieds threads are not meant for negative discussions. Comments on pricing are not allowed. Only people with genuine questions and interest in the item for sale should be posting in the classifieds threads.

don’t be offended by people they are just being real and it will help move the vehicle faster

like others have said I wouldn’t mess with the taxation especially with a 2024 car

if it’s a old used car then sure

but I was the one who paid 1600 over and that was 1600 worth of accessories

Unfortunately, it's a cash buyers market when it comes to selling cars like this so you'll end up taking a considerable loss. Most people either sell to an individual with cash at a loss or sell to a dealer for a big loss.
