Hopefully there's some news soon with the Cornwall Delivery. I looked at the Facebook group and it's quiet over there so far.

Do sneakers count if I put wheels on them?
One thing to note again is the word I'm hearing now about Type R is most dealers want a good trade in like older type R and minimum they want to take off that trade in is 10k. I've heard some others still talking crazy numbers like 20-25k, which is just insane.

So while the ITS is 5k more and I had to shell out for the warranty and paint protection for another 5, I highly doubt the CTR would have been cheaper given they want 10k off the bat. At least this ITS is giving me creature comforts, better tuned engine, exhaust note, extra warranty, and whatever the dealer ceramic coat is.

Also Sg was saying that while CTR seat was great initially, they had back pain on longer drives. I have back issues so I guess I'll have to accept being an old fart and go with the softer suspension and adjustable lumbar support. Lol

I’m really starting to find this whole situation of the FL5 in Canada really ridiculous, it should not be this complicated to buy a vehicle, I’m getting very discouraged but I really really want one. It’s going to be over a year now that I have my deposit. I’ve moved up significantly higher on my list where I am at my dealer, but it could still be another two years is what they’re telling me it doesn’t make any sense to me as we keep seeing them arriving in the US.

Here's one in Calgary:

Not to encourage buying a car like this, but its not priced as bad the others. Someone want to give it a go lol?
Looks like someone snapped this up lol. Listing is down. Hopefully we’ll see prices normalize. I have an ITS coming but if I can snap up a CTR for about the same price I’d do it.

The price was 65K which is very reasonable. I thought about it for myself but figured I’ll share it instead. I think it was a unicorn but hopefully not!

They’re supposed to get 9 this year. Another larger batch is in the fall. I’m in the winter batch in December/January unless someone backs out.
Interesting. I'm going to see how this R goes next year. If not great, I'll jump to the S. Doesn't seem like the S is of short supply like the R. Sherway Acura just posted 5 units this morning.

Definitely. I'm sure it helps that it doesn't have to cross the pacific to get here.

65 for FL5 is really good given the current situation. Honestly with all the standard mandatory fees and add-ons before a dealer says they want 10k if you're lucky, it's already at 65k. My ITS was a bit like this. Came out 73.7k out the door with taxes and everything.

I think if I can trade the ITS for the R without paying for more today, I'd do it in a heartbeat, but time will tell how I feel about it. I think the FL5 will be something very special and raw in comparison. It's not for everyone but those that want exactly that will never be able to settle for and ITS.

I'd say part of me wants that raw feeling that I had with my old Acura with k20a and coilovers. But then I definitely remember some of the days driving Toronto streets or longer trips when I wish I had something a tad smoother. I think in 2-3 months I'll know if I'm still after the FL5 or not.

To anyone that has a dealer that's been good at communicating their spot on the list and other related info on the FL5, don't give up your spot. I'll probably pull mine cus my dealer went dark again. Worst case, you get the car and will have something that every dealer will want. You'll be able to get your pick at what you want. You definitely won't lose money on it unless dealer wants beyond an additional 10k (thats my limit and remember US MSRP to CAD conversion is not far off).

If I end up getting the ITS first, I'll likely go the same route. My goal was always getting a Type R in the first place.

I know the feeling you're talking about. I still have my FG2 but it's been a garage queen the last few months as I decide what I want to do with it and avoid driving downtown c lol.

I think most of us on here have had radio at least for the 3-4 months. It seems to be a random when a car pops up out of nowhere and you get your name called.

Has anyone considering driving down to Buffalo getting one of those dealerships to sell you one?

Third CTR for Newmarket Honda, already spoken for. Also looks like there has been a price adjustment.
