Howdy all, I just signed up, trying to learn as much as i can about the 11th gen SI. i am in the process of getting my 3rd ever Si. I have not had an SI since 2010, and the 11th gen coming with heated seats is really what made me start looking at another SI. even though i am in Florida, i use heated seats as much as possible thanks to old back injuries. the seats in the 8th gens were tough on my back. the fixed positive lumbar support would make my legs go numb after 15 minutes.
Currently drive a 2006 Toyota 4Runner Sport v8 2wd, sitting at approximately 312k miles. bought it about 6 years ago for $1800 and have been using it as a DD for the entire time. have done some decent mods to it and probably gonna sell it and put that $ towards a new SI. still trying to decide. I have only recently been in the market after having a 26 Camry as a loaner when i was getting a lot of work done to the 4Runner. drove from NE Florida to mobile Alabama, and the thing only used 11 gallons each way.
If my username seem familiar, i was on 8thcivic for a few years when i had a 06 FG2 SI, and the infamous FA5 Mugen Si. I am probably going to try and buy back the Mugen as i miss the good old K20Z3. the FG2 i took on a few road trips which ill never do a coupe road trip again. i drove from NE Florida to Dallas fort worth and back, and then did a 17 hour trip to the suburbs of Detroit, only stopping for gas.
My goal for here is to learn as much as possible and also look at mod ideas. I am not 20 anymore so nothing crazy. I recently found that Mugen makes stuff for the 11th gens, and have been lurking to see what all i can get for the 11th. I would love to make an 11th version of the Mugen Si, just wish the 08 Mugen exhaust would fit on the 11th gen. it just sounded so good. but the idea is simple, a basic intake, cat back, some Mugen style options, and maybe wheels at some point.
anyways, attached are a couple photos of the FG2, the Mugen, and the current DD.
