Powering Radar Detectors

Has anyone installed a radar detector in a FL5? I'm trying to figure out how to power a Valentine 1 Gen 2 that needs a 12V supply and came with a cigarette lighter adapter. There are RJ11-to-USB cables available, but I don't know if the 2.5 A USB port in the Type R's front dash can supply 12 V, and I rather not hardwire it. Thanks in advance for any help.

USB port is 5V. You have to use the cigarette lighter adapter if you don't want to hardwire.

If you mount it below the rearview mirror, you can use a RJ11 mirror tap to easily get 12v power. Integra and Civic uses same electrical layout.
