So I did a thing today. I actually took my FL5 to the canyons for the first time. Before this, I too was complaining about the stiffness setting of the car. Especially the +R setting. The car was way too bouncy for me on the freeway. This made me want to change the suspension to comfort mode at all times. Comfort is still kinda stiff, but bearable. I started searching for coil overs options and looked into swapping out the Active damper module with the Type S module. I am thinking that 90% of the people complaining about the stiffness have not taken their car out to the twisties yet. To be transparent, I was again one of the people complaining. Now hear me out, this all changed when I took the car into the canyons. You want the car stiff when taking these turns going 40-50 miles. On R mode, body roll was literally not there or I didnt feel most of it. I wasnt scared to make the turns. I might just go with springs, because the Damper setting modes are now important to me. Who else have changed their mind after tracking their cars or have gone on some canyon runs?

Hmmm....

Everyone's opinions are different... so no right or wrong to this.

On the 19s I didn't drive the car in +R much. It, like the +R steering weight is hilariously too much for my taste. The car is my daily driver. I wasn't trying to damage a cast wheel driving like a knob in +R.

Once I changed to an 18". I started to put it in to +R and drive where that was suitable to remind myself how kick ass this car is is.

With the spoon springs and collars I feel like the car is even more of a joy in +R with the 265/35. I lost some steering response with the 35 profile but I feel I clawed some back. I can't imagine how awesome it is for yall on 19 inch wheels. I do feel more confident in the feel.

I thought comfort mode was improved with the spoon springs. I'm going to say that isn't true. Truthfully it shouldn't be but at first it seemed it. Perhaps it takes the edge off but the springs are more stiff and that reality comes quick when having fun. The delayed body roll is gone however and that's a big deal along with the 18 inch wheel/35 profile as far as confidence. I have an ITS ADS module on order. Curious how I'll feel about it... I want to avoid bounce obviously. I have seen any DE5 guys running FL5 springs.

Again it's my daily. I don't plan on parting ways with my car so I'll add and subtract as needed to find a sweet spot.

Road situational. Enter a high speed corner at 90mph without perfect pavement, and it will bounce you out of the seat.
That’s why we thankfully have multiple settings.
