Aw hell yea! They finally fixed that front hood gap on the sides and it's a 6 speed manual Can't wait!!
It’s made in Japan. Don’t expect the same fix from the US plant. Just being realistic here. ?

XL?
Is that a grade in Japan, or do they mean LX or EX-L?

JDM has slightly different trims. Looks like above LX and below Touring with partial leather and no fogs but not quite EX-L.:dunno:

In the Japanese reveal videos I remember them basically showing what we would consider a touring (except the partial leather seating) but most of the touring features, marketed there as an EX... They only ever made mention of an LX and EX trim in that video. But I'm unsure.

Trim names change based on market and what they think will package better and sound better based on what's popular regionally. The Euro civics used to have an 8th gen Type S, which was basically just the 3 door hatch variant with the 1.8 liter model. And they've also had RS trim levels in Europe as well for the civics which I think amounted to mostly a sport trim-like visual package.

I thought the hatchbacks were being manufactured here in the USA?

Our hatches are being made in the USA for the American markets. Japan is building their own for the Asian markets. Unsure if Europe will get Japan built or US built models imported or a mixture of the two.

Same here. I have a 2016 Touring now and I like this hatchback much better than the new sedan. The sedan needs it's own version of the hatchbacks taillights. verses the Hyundai looking taillights it got. If I get another Civic, it will be the hatchback for this very reason. Looks so much better than the sedan.

Does anyone know what the card slot located underneath the vent to the right of the steering wheel? Can see it at 13:22 in the video.

Almost looks like a slot for something like an SD card... probably something related to features that the civic comes with in Japan that other markets don't get.
