Hello everyone, I've searched the forums and Facebook groups and there isn't much info out there on carbon hoods for the FL5. I have modified the living crap out of my FL5 including full APR Carbon aero kit, mirrors, swan neck wing etc. I recently picked up a knock off Spoon hood vent off eBay. It's decent but I'm a bit underwhelmed and entertaining the idea of going full carbon hood instead. There's only so many options and finding people who have one and can share their experience has been difficult to find. I'm thinking on the Seibon TV Style carbon hood. I'm very aware Seibon doesn't have the best reputation but seeing Honda Pro Jason and MAPerformance videos on the hood. It looks surprisingly good on camera at least. Especially not having to wait months if not a year for a custom order one. Any input is greatly appreciated!

I plan on going with Varis or First molding.
I prefer Js racing style, but I’m not dropping 8k on a hood, when the same company (first molding) makes js and their own for much cheaper.

I Ike the GT Style hood. It doesn't look overly done and has additional vents. Doesn't seem to have any channels for water though..

Not to thread jack but do people with CF hoods nowadays add hood latches for safety? I've always added hood latches on my previous cars with CF hoods. I just don't trust the latch on CF hoods. Just last Friday, a G37 with a CF hood was behind me as we were entering the freeway. I looked in my rear view mirror and he was on the side, hood flew open. Feel bad for the guy.. Not sure if he didn't latch his hood correctly or the main latch failed.

I looked at first molding. Looks like they have one model unit available for under $3k shipped

I agree. My car already looks over obnoxious with the wing lol. But the TV style does look to much happening at once. GT is minimal but functional. It actually reminds me of the TRC hood that's used

We've done a lot of Seibon, we hardly EVER have fitment issues, if anything its delivery issues where something will come chipped.

Do you have experience with the GT style hood? Fit and finish and if the vents actually provide heat extraction?
