Driven on Pilot Sports through winter in sub-zero temps for years, first on my E46 M3 and then my M2C. Both were manual, both RWD. Would I recommend it? Not really. But if thereās no snow and youāre not driving like an idiot, itās totally manageable. And yeah, Iād imagine itās a lot easier with FWD.
Stole this from a FB post.
The article claims the FL5 Civic Type R gets a facelift around September 2026.
Supposed changes: Google built in infotainment, revised front and rear bumpers for better cooling and aero, full LED rear turn signals, heated seats standard in Japan, USB C, and Auto...
The biggest complaint I keep hearing with modern turbo cars like the Type R, GRC, etc. is cooling. Thatās the one area manufacturers should be overbuilding from the factory. Toyota added an extra radiator in one of the air ducts in the mid cycle refresh to the GRY/GRC. Not that it completely...
2027 isnāt happening, folks!
Apparently Europe got swallowed by an emissions panic and now everyone else is supposed to obediently copy paste the same nonsense, because obviously the entire planet has to run its decisions through Brussels first.
Please, hurry up and buy your Type Rs before...
All that bickering and all those āHonda would never wait this longā theories aged like milk.
Turns out Honda did exactly what everyone swore they wouldnāt do. And not just a little wrong, either. Like 90% of this thread was confidently, loudly wrong.
Now letās hear the excusesā¦
The 2027...
You can disagree all you want, but their track record speaks for itself. I honestly canāt remember the last time Best Car Magazine out of Japan missed the mark. They nailed the GR Corolla renders years ago, long before anyone even knew what it was, and they did the same with the new Land Cruiser...
For decades BMW refused to slap an M badge on anything that didnāt truly earn it, until they finally sold out. Now the badge is on everything that moves because it prints money. AMG followed the same path.
Iām calling it now, thereās going to be a Prelude Type R. Even Best Car Magazine...
Next thing you know, some bumble***k country bans white paint or mandates rainbow seatbelts and the same geniuses will be on here preaching about how Honda is killing the Type R forever.
Iāve been ridiculed for years on here and elsewhere by a bunch of clowns because I kept saying there would be another year of the FL5 Type R. Back in 2023 people swore there wouldnāt be a 2024. Then they doubled down and said no 2025 either. And every time, they were wrong.
The truth is a lot...
No, there isnāt lol
Whereās this so-called proof? Previous Type R model years like 2023 and 2024 rolled over with zero spy shots or test mules. Nothing.
Youāre just assuming MY26 has to be different, so you think the lack of mules somehow confirms it doesnāt exist. Thatās not proof ā thatās...
Iām not saying Honda copies Toyota ā obviously, theyāre different companies. My point is that both manufacturers routinely end production on different timelines depending on the market. Canada losing the Type R doesnāt mean global production is done. I can tell you for a fact that in some...
Iām 99.99% sure thereāll be a 2026 Type R. Thereās zero actual proof suggesting otherwise ā just a bunch of rumors with no receipts. The Canada discontinuation means absolutely nothing. Tons of recent Toyota models had completely different lifespans depending on the market, and Honda plays by...
So that settles it. There will be a 2026 Type R. And anyone out here cheering for its death just so their car can be the āfinal yearā that strokes their ego is in for a letdown.
