  1. Active Dampers too stiff on FL5. Disabled with Damping Cancellation Kit

How about the ā€˜bounciness’ during very hard cornering? As others have said, I can stand the ā€˜harsh’ ride. I love it. It’s the pogo sticking on even slightly uneven pavement during at-the-limit handling that bothers me. It’s laughably bad in an otherwise perfect (to me) sports car.
  2. FL5 stock exhaust valve: Fuse pulled/always open - exterior sound clips

Okay, thank you for explanation. Mine is closed and center pipe noticeably less sooty than sides so I’ll assume I botched it when I tried to do this a few months ago.
  3. Next-gen Civic Type R will live on - even if as Hybrid or EV (says head engineer Hideki Kakinuma)

Maybe. But it also could be the other way around. I’ll be keeping my FL5 and FD Si either way. šŸ˜‚
  4. Head to head comparison of “off the shelf” tunes for a stock fl5 coming soon. (UPDATED WITH INTERIM RESULTS)

Thank you for the data. Very helpful. I saw a video where the tune also included some use of the traction control that reduced wheel spin considerably (which would obviously alter driving experience strongly). Was this included in any of your testing?
  5. FL5 stock exhaust valve: Fuse pulled/always open - exterior sound clips

I’m not sure what the original instructions were—or if they even changed—but I think I pulled the fuse and maybe cycled ignition and put it back? It’s possible I did it wrong and it never worked to begin but I didn’t need to put it back because it was still plugged in. I feel like I’m being...
  6. Active Dampers too stiff on FL5. Disabled with Damping Cancellation Kit

For me, the ā€˜harsh’ ride is fine. Feels incredibly responsive. On edge in a good way. I love it. The issue is the bouncing under hard cornering. I don’t understand how other people don’t have an issue with this. It makes the car ridiculous to drive in those circumstances, IMHO. It’s terrible.
  7. FL5 Instant Live Tuning now available

I think that’s the approach Honda took? It’s interesting with all of the possibilities.
  8. C&D Lightning Lap 2024: The Hottest Cars on America's Toughest Track

I agree, just using the FK8 time vs the IST time as a kind of basis (.3 faster, which may as well be the same considering all of the variables.
  9. FL5 Instant Live Tuning now available

Of course it’s *literally* usable, it just could substantial improvement as almost any turbocharged FF can.
  10. FL5 Instant Live Tuning now available

This plus the Phearable ā€˜traction control’ feature (assuming I’m understanding it all correctly) would a long way in making the car usable in first and second gear.
  11. C&D Lightning Lap 2024: The Hottest Cars on America's Toughest Track

Bother wonderful cars—so many on that list. Great for bench racing.
  12. ITS ADS Module Availability

My issue with the stock FL5 isn’t the harshness of the ride, it’s the bouncing under hard cornering. It’s extraordinarily bad. And I’m guessing the ITS ADS won’t be enough to significantly reduce that.
  13. Has the 2nd gear grind happened to your FL5 yet?

I'd have thought that was crazy, but my Si went from a garbage gearbox to 85% as good as my old BRZs (very underrated box) after changing to new gear oil. So this may be worth trying. The dealer would love that, though. 'We can't warranty it because you didn't use OEM fluid.'
  14. Has the 2nd gear grind happened to your FL5 yet?

Yes, just rare enough they’re not going to be able reproduce it. Also, leaving it with a dealer isn’t something I want. I am going to keep monitoring and if it continues, something is gonna have to give. I’m not going to pay $44k for a car I’m scared to shift.
  15. Has the 2nd gear grind happened to your FL5 yet?

I have a 2007 Civic Si with a garbage transmission and I shift as fast as I want and have never have had a gear grind ever in 8 years of ownership.
