Yeah…I was looking at the pics and wondering why they are all weirdly subdivided. Some of the divided pics don’t show anything of importance. A couple are closeups of an edge of the cardboard box. There’s a couple of others too : A pic of a door knob and a pic of the wall.
Well, they didn’t know what the codes were for mine either, BUT my car ran fine (though rev limited)…which seems maybe that’s not the same your case. Rough idle, that’s no good! I’m wondering if it’s the fuel pump? Honda has had problems with these over the last few years.
@Fortheboyz I didn’t experience rough idle, despite the fact 2-3 of my valves were slightly out of spec (from the factory), and caused misfires, which then triggered 2 CELs at completely random times within the first 3k miles. It seems I had a rather unique situation as I haven’t read about...
I did some further reading. You’re right! The auto brake hold does maintain the brake as long as the car is stationary (as a convenience and safety feature). I was confusing it with the Hill Start Assist…which is similar, but obviously serves a more specific purpose.
I think, if anything, the tariffs may affect the prices of the normal Civics (among other cars and parts) that are made in Mexico. If that happens, then we can expect dealerships to continue with ADMs on the CTR to keep the pricing structure consistent across the line.
Yes, it does. It’s not a shortcut. It’s just a more efficient fix versus when the issue was first discovered. For about a month or so, Honda has provided kits to dealerships to fix the issue. I took my car in for an oil change recently and they took care of the recall at the same time.
@JCZ5 There really isn’t much uncertainty about the hybrid push. EV’s…yeah…I don’t see them taking over the world any time soon.
Honda is already pushing hybrids across the board. Even Porsche hybridized the most traditional sports car, the 911. Honda’s head engineer has also said that he...
I kinda doubt you need actual snow tires, though I know TX has had its share of snow/ice the last 2-3 years. If it dips below 40° you should park it OR at least get all season tires that handle light snow and wet conditions well. The stock Michelins will harden and lose traction the further...
I tend to agree with you, though this design seems better than the stock orange piece. Still…I wouldn’t pay a $100 for a slight improvement. You’re right about that. A $100 dip stick better fix the damn problem AND make me smile like an insane idiot every time I check my oil level.
Yeah…I don’t get it. Pretty much every car manufacturer has a different dipstick and it can even vary between engines from the same manufacturer. I have 3 Honda vehicles. All 3 have a different dipstick design. The worst of the 3 is easily the one in the Type R. The best might be the good ol...
Got it. Thank you. I just wanted to be sure my understanding of the oils was, at least, mostly correct.?
I agree. If one had to use motor oil in the trans, for some reason, it’d be best to swap it out for proper gear oil ASAP due to the whole different metals + different environment + different...
I may easily be wrong, but I think there are other differences, right? The chemical makeup of engine oils and gear oils are surely different, which makes sense. They’re used in very different environments and put up with different stressors. I think you could use motor oil in the trans in a...
As long as it is MTF, the correct viscosity, and the correct amount, it should be fine. I don’t see how Honda would have any grounds to void a warranty claim unless incorrect fluid is used.
Note : Some products may not be API certified. Could Honda question that in a warranty claim? Yes...
