  1. Carbon Buildup on Intake Valves

I’m pretty positive it still happens, but not quickly/severely…which is why we don’t see widespread reports of people with 8-9 year old FK8s with carbon buildup issues. Might the intake valves need a walnut blast at some point? Probably eventually, but it’s not worth worrying about. Monitor...
  2. Indiana Boost blue hatch swap (winged for wingless)!

I would be concerned about going as far as swapping the hatch and the paint not perfectly matching.
  3. Official CHAMPIONSHIP WHITE FL5 Type R Photos Thread

Your car almost looks silver in this pic. It’s kind of awesome.
  4. Violent bucking starting second gear

Exactly. You have to feather the gas while also slowly letting the clutch out…or you’re going to have a bad time. Practice doing it in 1st as there is less chance of lugging.
  5. Switching Sides - DE5 to FL5

I’m the same way. I prefer my personal vehicles to be simple. Our family vehicles, however, I want them to feel like I’m driving the couch and have all the convenience features.
  6. Switching Sides - DE5 to FL5

Probably because Acura is ahead of Honda with respect to technology (and of course luxury). It’s a marketing thing. Typically, after a few years, technology from Acura trickles down to Honda while Acura is onto the next advancement.
  7. steering recall

THIS…plus…you know, there’s the whole safety thing to be paranoid about, especially if you frequently have passengers and drive on public roads.
  8. Fl5 Front bumper alignment

    That looks normal. Lol
  9. Fl5 Front bumper alignment

Yours is as bad as OP’s? That’s crazy.
  10. Fl5 Front bumper alignment

My thoughts exactly. A slight gap is OK, but the bumper shouldn’t be sticking out and you shouldn’t be able to see the clip holes unless you’re up close and looking into the gap.
  11. Civic Type R refresh / facelift confirmed for 2026

It is definitely odd, but only because we’re later than usual to get the 2026 MY. Maybe this simply means they’ll continue to build the facelift on the same sort of offset/delayed timeline. It’d be weird, but if it is indeed the last of its kind, then I can understand taking the ā€œchampionship...
  12. Seatbelt Slow to Retract

I would have the dealership look at it and explain that you feel it may be a safety concern. Even if your car isn’t under warranty I would think they’d fix it…but I dunno.
  13. Axion Industries "Spork" edition valve cover

That would actually be both hilarious and awesome. Did someone say ā€œSporky decals?ā€
  14. Axion Industries "Spork" edition valve cover

That’s hilarious! Honestly, my first thought was that this was some sort of @Sporky McGeuschky signature product, based on the thread title. Lol!
  15. All New Spoon Sports FL5 Type R

Oh I know! I just thought the choice of words and timing of the situation was funny. Hahaha! It was some accidental comedy.
  16. Wheels wheel wheels: DECISION made!

A small detail I noticed : The ā€œEst. 2023ā€ should be flipped upside down to match the direction of the word etchings ā€œForgedā€ and ā€œTDPRACINGINDā€ on the lip.
  17. Advan apex tires in cold weather via Michelin PS4s

If there’s ANY significant ice on the roads (and there likely will be), don’t drive. The compound hardens like a hockey puck and your car will slide like a hockey puck. Even if you’re a good driver, if you have to make a quick evasive maneuver or quickly stop (because there will be others on the...
  18. All New Spoon Sports FL5 Type R

You said ā€œTrying to get a good shot of the rear bumperā€ while filming people’s butts.šŸ˜† Great content as always. The finished front clip looks a lot better than the early prototype photos (as one should expect). Not sure I totally like it, but it’s cool to see something different and I...
  19. Missing the Bite

It is light. I think it’s a Honda thing.
  20. Missing the Bite

No problem. I think you’ll find launch to be much smoother and you can get up to speed more quickly and confidently.
