My car got into a small front accident where they had to replace the front bumper but lately I noticed a decent gap after they fixed it. Just wondered if this is acceptable or not because fl5 is known to have panel gaps. Thanks

That is not how the bumper should sit. I would not be pleased with this and would have the body shop take another look at it to better align it. More importantly, is this acceptable to you?

If you can see the clip holes from the side then it is not mounted properly
My thoughts exactly. A slight gap is OK, but the bumper shouldn’t be sticking out and you shouldn’t be able to see the clip holes unless you’re up close and looking into the gap.

I think mine is on the bad end and I have to sit at a certain angle to see the clip holes, the fact that this is on both sides means it's royally fucked up

Yours is as bad as OP’s? That’s crazy.

I just contacted the shop and they said they are going to take a look at it. The left side is bad to the point I can fit a finger nail in between. The right side is just slightly popped out. But is the color mismatch that bad? I heard it’s normal to have a slight mismatch because the car is metal and the bumper is plastic which affects the paint.

Here's my """"bad side"""" in two separate lighting scenarios. I think in the worst case scenario this is how yours should've looked.

My eye tells me the color is ever so slightly closer on the stock one, but I doubt anyone would actually notice.

I appreciate it. The first picture kinda looked like something similar to my driver side (right) bumper. Are these mounting brackets made of play dough it just sags overtime Imao

Yeah, the right side on mine is perfect, so it's likely I just need to slip in the top clip (if it's not just how the clips sit), but that'll be a project for the summer when I pull off the bumper for other stuff.

I should also note in the first picture the light was shining on the gap itself, so there's that.

Luckily you can go back to a shop and have them fix it for you. Just make sure they aren't rushing it.

How tho I looked at some YouTube videos and it didn’t look too bad it was just some clips and screws. They said it was easier than the FK8. How long do you think it will take to fix the alignment from the shop because this car is my daily
