Having owned the Veloster N (and been in the Elantra N a few times) I feel like this comment is pretty accurate. That said, that last 10% makes a big difference. The N series still feels incredibly cheap inside, you can tell it is a fun but ultimately budget car. It's a blast to drive but at no...
Installed a Mugen knob for a more low profile setup. Could’ve gone Poco for cheaper (and shorter) but I love the way this looks. There’s a slight mismatch in the size of the knob’s flat bottom and the collar so I might end up swapping in an Acuity collar down the road to see if it’s a better...
To test if my passenger side rattle issue was in fact from the A pillar I stuffed some craft foam in the top of it (where the seam is near the airbag stamp) and that stopped the noise. Once I confirmed that I just took it to the dealer and told them to take it off and reseat it. They were going...
Does it have a metallic ping sound to it and does it only occur at low speeds? Another forum member had them swap our their airbag assembly and that fixed it. There is an issue with the springs in the assembly it seems and either reseating it or changing it for a new one usually fixes the issue.
I've had an annoying vibration/rattle from the passenger side dash that hasn't been resolved after two visits to the dealership and seeing you mention the A-pillar, I think that might be the culprit now. I might try popping it off tomorrow to see if the rattle keeps happening.
Really torn on whether to throw Enkei Triumphs or Work Emotion D9Rs on my CW FL5. The Works are 2x the price and harder to get a hold of but I love that deep dish look.
I'm bummed the Enkei PF01EVO only comes in an ET20 offset in the size and bolt pattern for the FL5. I'd potentially go with...
The trim piece itself is undamaged thankfully. It’s also only like a $250ish part if I need to replace it. The vinyl on the dash is what worried me but I carefully heat gunned it and got the dents/wrinkles out almost entirely. I can prob get it 100% back to normal with another pass.
This is correct I believe. Thankfully Overland sells the boot with mount and retainer so if you mess up the original retainer removal you’re still good.
The boot looks so much better than the stock pleather. Alcantara quality seems great too.
I'll post pics tomorrow but ended up going the zip tie cutting route. So, I still broke the retainer trying to get to the nut to loosen so I could take off the knob. The good thing though, the Overland boot I ordered was the assembly, retainer, everything. It was way more difficult than it...
Man this OEM knob is no joke. I’m trying to muscle it off by unscrewing it to keep the process simple and it just won’t budge. Might have to use the method in the video @albi posted.
I can loosen the retainer nut by removing the center console lid off first right? And I ordered the Overland boot that comes with the retainer assembly, so I should be able to just swap them out without any cutting.
