As long as peoples 401k’s are strong and home prices are elevated they have comfort in spending money. If either shoe drops it’ll come tumbling down. Home prices would be worse because anyone who owes big and is getting close to being upside down in their mortgage will offload second homes or...
Originally I thought one of the first things I’d do was unplug that box. Almost a year into ownership and it’s still plugged in. Honestly, the car is too quiet and need the extra noise from the speakers IMO. Helps avoid having to get a loud exhaust and move away from stock.
You know how in driving school they say eyes up, look as far ahead as possible. Try that when driving through NYC with 19”-22” wheels ?
I try and keep a distance of about 30ft from car in front to give me enough time to swerve from the NYC potholes. LIE is crap as well but at least you can...
Just installed mine. Heel toe is much easier. Technically I use the roll foot method on the accelerator while braking, I prefer over rotating with the heel.
I have the RE71RS on 18’s and recently put factory rims and tires back on while I get the rims cleaned up. Here is a direct comparison:
PS4S on factory 19” wheels:
- tire noise is minimal
- steering feel and responsive is immediate
- tire grip limit is finicky when going over changes in surface...
What’s nice about the FL5 (maybe even FK8 acts the same) but you can mash the throttle even in the corners and it doesn’t jump into understeer like every other FWD car I had in the past
Just a Motive pressure bleeder and adapter cap is all you need to flush the fluid. Since the pads aren’t being changed on the rear you won’t have an issue. I use the ’dry’ technique when using the pressure bleeder...
Mine is the 5000SLX, an older version. It is for 60” max and just makes it for the Type R lift points. I have a Corvette that if I got the longer version it wouldn’t fit. If the Type R is the smallest distance between lift points of cars you have than you may want to consider going longer but...
Same on mine. What’s interesting is the compressible material on the factory shims. Not used to seeing compressible material on a shim and am curious to the purpose.
curious if when you took out your pads to put the shims in did you find shims already in there from the factory?
my car has shims from the factory installed between the pads and brake cylinders. I never have seen that on my previous cars.
Man that guy can TALK. Probably could have said all he needed to say in under 5 minutes.
looked like an aftermarket radiator but couldnt completely tell
interested to hear your thoughts on a compare and contrast between the two cars. GR86 was one of the top choices if I didn’t get the FL5.
Today I’m heading to my brothers house to drive his recently acquired GR86 so I’ll finally get to experience the car! Excited to try it. I love the...
This is the only car I’ve ever owned that gets rocks stuck against the rotor. 3 times in the last 8 months. Twice I needed to pull the wheel to remove and one time I used the quick reversing method to dislodge it. As another said, it’s an idiosyncrasy with this car.
For the OP it definitely...
