Here's my thinking. The final drive ratio of the FL5 is taller than the FK8 which would potentially mean a higher top speed is possible. Counter to this, it has slightly smaller diameter tyres, which would reduce the top speed just a little, but this would also increase the torque output...
Yea true - I'm a fan of the GR86. It defies that logic a little in that it does in fact chase lap times, and remain extremely fun to drive - but of course retains some flaws. A great car though.
'Better' is going to be an interesting one... because I'm sure it will be faster... I'm sure it will be more agile... but will it be a better 'drive' - i.e. will it still have a manual gearbox or gears at all... will it still make any noise at all that isn't just a .wav file... and then there's...
Depends on the car - I find the Mazda 3 version very quick and smooth to start unlike others - and it only activates when pressing the brake pedal more firmly after stopping, otherwise it doesn't.
This is just not true.. I currently still own Mitsi's from the 1990's and there's nothing trash in sight as far as reliability. Not the nicest designs.. but they work.
I look at the car only costing the difference between what I paid for it and what it eventually sells for when I'm done with it... so if there are limited numbers of the car and the price on the second hand market stays high as a result, I'm fine with that.
Am I not allowed to have a nice sounding 4 with performance? It's not like the designers are like 'ok, now I know you guys wanted performance but instead we made it sound good'... they can do both, it just requires that design intention.
Now back to your STI insult... how dare you mam! ?
