  1. Correct ECU part number

What's your exhaust setup with the Stage 1 pops?
  2. Advice on driving the Type R

There's no singular "best way" to do it, use whatever method works for you to get the best possible driving result. I'm not a big fan of being dogmatic about things. Telling someone to do (or not) do something without any real explanation benefits no-one. I would suggest to analyze what caused...
  3. Correct ECU part number

The 37820-66V-A03 is the exact part number for 2023-2024 model year cars. However, this has become harder to find as the part has been superseded. I believe it is up to 37820-66V-A06 now. If you're buying an ECU as a donor for an ECU clone, the Type S ECU (part 37820-6PV-A03) is compatible...
  4. Advice on driving the Type R

The funniest thing is transitioning from a car that has auto-rev downshift to one that doesn't and then downshifting and dumping the clutch.
  5. Advice on driving the Type R

I gave the option of 2nd or 1st. It's not a binary decision at what gear to be in at that speed because they are both within the acceptable speed limits and requires context. Comfortable with modulating the clutch and gas a little longer and fine with being at the low-end of the rev range? Then...
  6. Advice on driving the Type R

I personally think you should master the fundamentals before trying to add too much to your plate. The auto-rev match is a tool and I wouldn't view it as training wheels at all. It allows you to focus your mental bandwidth on a smaller number of variables.
  7. Quality of Life mods for the FL5

I have not had any fitment issues. Are the fitment issues described as the window mount feeling "loose"? The only way I can think of that happening is maybe not all the brackets are mating properly to the camera when trying to twist it back into place. The Homelink mirror is as secure as the...
  8. Advice on driving the Type R

I have no clue how my STI is at 170k miles (and ticking) with the stock engine and clutch.
  9. Quality of Life mods for the FL5

I use Fumoto valves in all my vehicles, just attach a hose or drain the oil directly into a container. Works great in my BRZ where the oil filter is top-mounted so no drain pan needed. You'll still have to use a drain pan for a bottom-mounted filter, though. Not maintenance-related, but if you...
  10. PRL Motorsports 2023+ Honda Civic Type-R FL5 High Volume Intake System Product Development

You're at least 6 years out, pretty sure it will have passed CARB certification by then.
  11. Advice on driving the Type R

To clarify my previous post: 2nd or 1st when you've slowed down to 10 MPH.
  12. PRL Motorsports 2023+ Honda Civic Type-R FL5 High Volume Intake System Product Development

"Starting January 1, 2019, if your vehicle is less than 4 model years old, you can pay a smog abatement fee instead of getting a smog inspection for the first 8 years that your vehicle is registered. " Source: https://www.dmv.ca.gov/portal/vehicle-registration/smog-inspections/ Not due for...
  13. Advice on driving the Type R

Downshift into either 2nd or 1st at that speed. I tend to stay in gear as much as possible in case power needs to be applied.
  14. Cooling mods for the average Joe

Hot take: Stock car cooling is fine for average use. Unless your spirited drives are approaching temperatures seen from prolonged hard driving at the track, then you're driving way too hard on the street.
  15. WOT Performance: HPT Cooling Plate

Currently backordered and shipping was $45 for me.
  16. WOT Performance: HPT Cooling Plate

Report back with the install difficulty if you can.
  17. California FS: Hondata Flashpro (SOLD)

I wasn't aware this was the case, what makes the datalogging easier with this version compared to the mini?
