He’s definitely being coy and it doesn’t make sense to do that for no reason, ie if the sedan is the only body.
Pure speculation yes, but he’s been in the game a while so hopefully he’s better at marketing than just being coy. That being said he also doesn’t think a CDX makes sense in NA.:doh:
In order of likelihood: sedan, coupe, both coupe and hatch, 5 door hatch.
Leaked presentation makes this technically an ILX replacement. Acura saying otherwise is prob marketing speak or an indication of multiple body types.
It’ll likely be a detuned 2.0L turbo car based on the 11th gen Civic...
It’s true, the Si came in 2017 rather than 2016 like the other models except CTR.
I’d like to see an Si hatch too but they’re not going to release it a couple years into a generation. They’d typically wait for the next gen.
Ya it’s exciting to see new accessories so easy to see them thru rose coloured glasses.
It’s growing on me a little from some angles. The black mounts are oddly big and a bit too visible so they stand out a lot.
The price of their spoilers in Canada are typically $700-$800. I was fine with...
It’s about filling the gap between the Si and the Type R. There’s a lot room wrt horsepower between the two.
It’s highly unlikely the Sport Line will come sure, but there’s a market for a CTR without that wing, all that red, huge wheels, and all that power (but keeping the 2.0). Especially...
I wonder if this is coming to NA with hatchback production?

Agree the Si will prob use this grill and on the concerns. It’s a nice grill design but clashes with the lower opening.
The alleged 11th gen Si seems oddly conservative compared to 10th gen. I’d expect to see a more aggressive wing than the HPD, more aggressive rear bumper, etc. As it stands...
Hopefully the Si gets seats that look as good as the ones in the Japanese video for the hatchback. Looked like, but prob wasn’t, alcantara. The current Si seats are comfortable but the design looks a little cheesy.
What do you mean if they don’t? They’ve said the Si is sedan-only for this gen.

That was Honda Canada so you could argue the US may be different but it likely won’t be.
That reveal should be very interesting for the brand.
“Some people are saying…” that in an increasingly SUV market, a brand that’s done far better with their SUVs than sedans should’ve added another SUV to their lineup.
If this new Acura sedan doesn’t excite I’m getting an SUV and something...
True… but not the taillights. Overall the hatch makes a better looking Si. The sedan is looking a lot more subdued and conservative.
I’m starting to think there may be something to the rumours of a hatch-only Si.
Hehe, you mean the Honda ZDX. It wasn’t a horrible idea to make a Honda version of the platform to recoup some development costs but it was a horrible exterior design.
The current Accord could look virtually identical with a hatchback.
Maybe they’ll do a hatchback:)
Of course they won’t, but the fast back could be done as a hatch and keep the look. It’d be a way to expand its audience. Can’t see any potential Accord buyers not buying one because it’s a hatch but I can see hatchback buyers coming to the Accord because it is a...
Fair but you have to give them credit for ditching the chrome trim, the fake bumper vents and not-so-great stereo (assuming Si gets a similar upgrade as the Touring).
