If I’m honest, not a huge fan of the tips. I love the look of them in the mockup on the white Si, but I think the product in it’s current state is too sharp looking, if that makes sense. Cast tips may be the answer, but I’d be concerned with the cost at that point. Just my $0.02.
All USB ports do not output the same power. To make sure the V2 unit is getting plenty of power, it may be helpful to plug it into a PC and the car at the same time.
Does his kit wire into the ECU harness? I ask because I've heard about people damaging ignition coils when using the incorrect wire. Could be a long shot.
A while back ago I worked closely tuning with a friend (both on ethanol blends, similar tunes) and his CVT car with similar mods was consistently faster according to our data logs on the top end because of the CVT gearing. (as opposed to my 6MT hatch)

It may not be precise but it's going to make your car safer to drive. Running 10% lean is not safe, especially on 91/93 octane. You can get away with more on a high ethanol blend.
