  1. 992 GT3 vs. FL5 Type R

Ive chased GT3 RSs at Buttonwillow before. With an experienced driver behind the wheel, that car will absolutely spank my Type R. At the time I was only on a Phearable tune, and even then I could keep up with one through the corners, because the drivers didn’t seem fully familiar with the track...
  2. Streets of Willow (renovated) track day - night run . Cooling testing

I’d love to, but I already have other commitments on that date. I was hoping around January or February, if the weather allows. With Willow springs reportedly doubling their prices next year (rumor has it, over $500 per track day), Buttonwillow will probably be the best option.
  3. Will I need a tune immediately after installing a few bolt-on mods?

Yes, with the flex fuel setup. that’s exactly why I had a shop handle all the engine mods and get it dyno tuned on the same day.
  4. Streets of Willow (renovated) track day - night run . Cooling testing

I’m really not a fan of those tire barriers. Having gone off this track twice before, I can say they’re extremely dangerous. There’s no room for mistakes, if my brakes give out, or if I understeer or oversteer, it could end badly. I already know of three crashes here because of those barriers...
  5. How far is too far, regarding the FL5 fuel system?

If you look at my track build, my car is heavily modded but tuned conservatively, 500 plus whp and 400 plus wtq on E85/E50. I don’t daily it or drag race, it’s a dedicated track car that sees about 6x - 10x events per year. From my experience running at Buttonwillow, Streets of Willow, and Big...
  6. What did you do to your FL5 today?

    night run at the track.
  7. Streets of Willow (renovated) track day - night run . Cooling testing

First time running at Streets of Willow since the renovation and the addition of the tire barriers and they’re pretty sketchy. I’ve already seen a few cars make contact with them. Back when there were no barriers, I went off track twice myself, but at least it was safer to go off into the dirt...
  8. Formula R: High-Performance Synthetic Engine Oil by Honda Racing

This was recorded today after 14 laps. The LOG R shows 82 F ambient temperature, 197 F water temp, and 231 F oil temp. Pay attention to the left-side gauge, it’s blinking, but it actually indicates 212 F. That’s the true temperature of the engine oil circulating through the oil cooler. I also...
  9. Official BOOST BLUE FL5 Type R Photos Thread

No, I went with a custom setup. I bought a dual 25-row oil cooler and fabricated my own mounting solution. Back in Aug-sept 2024, the CSF oil cooler wasn’t available yet, so I modified the bumper and routed flexible duct hoses on each side to direct airflow straight to the oil cooler.
  10. Formula R: High-Performance Synthetic Engine Oil by Honda Racing

I haven’t seen any meaningful difference between Mobil 1, Valvoline Full Synthetic, Pennzoil Ultra Platinum, or AMSOIL Signature. I typically change my oil every 5–6 track days, and unless there’s solid, peer-reviewed data proving otherwise, I don’t believe the differences are significant enough...
  11. What did you do to your FL5 today?

I tried using the resistor trick, but it didn’t work, so the issue is always present. I’m not too concerned about that code since I understand what’s causing it.
  12. What in your opinion is the best exhaust for the FL5?

Any chance you can share some sound clips? I’m seriously considering this exhaust. Being in CA, I’m wondering how the cops handle it.
  13. FL5 front bumper, side screw

Does anyone know the size and where I can order these? I'm missing 2x. Thanks
