Do you know if when it is user controlled, and the valve is closed, whether it still responds to the Honda programmed opening if you're stepping on it or in R+? Or with the user controlled option does it eliminate the OEM cues to open/close?
Actually looks like the mounting points are marked on the inside of the bumper. Might look more into this as a possibility in the future. Would be a nice OEM feature to have.
Really cool that this is being sold but that means getting a front and rear bumper from a country that offers the sensors. Probably not realistic and there’s something to learning the dimensions of a car in an intimate way. Haven’t had a car long enough to really learn it like that in a long time.
Yeah I wish it had sensors too, every time I think I’m leaving too much room in front my bumper is right up to the line/barrier/wall. Definitely taking some getting used to the size pulling in forward.
This is great, Milltek has quite a bit going on with their system if you haven’t seen what they’re up to…. Including potentially a driver controllable valve option…. Would be good to take some of their cues.
If you guys can get it sounding like the Si exhaust somehow I’d be in love ❤️
I saw these on an FL5 at some different angles the other day in pics and they actually are extremely subtle. I was surprised. They seem like the best solution out there right now if you want that nice flush fitment. I can’t imagine not getting rock chips or scratches at +45 without some...
Definitely 3 tips, equal diameter would be great. Having an option for black or Titanium burnt tips would be fantastic.
I like the idea of keeping the valve for more stock-like application and tamer daily cruising. Would it still be controlled the same as it is stock where it is only opening...
So you’re going down a path I’ve been considering and at $40 these are a no brainer, looking great. Are you going to do the antenna fin and spoiler as well? What to do with the lip, skirts, and diffuser? CF eventually maybe?
I put one in. Car goes whoosh whoosh and isn’t broken a month later. GTG
In all seriousness though someone in this forum measured one or two of them vs the stock filter if I recall correctly and the differences seemed too minimal to matter.
There are FL5 intakes. K&N which I have noticeably improved sound. In the other thread about this word is the Sprint (makes the Spoon filter) sounds even better. Sprint also has a $300 one that is supposed to be 3x better than the regular $110 one...
