That’s a disappointing number. No way to get around it. Cause for concern for the Si too. Tuning a car to make it maybe as fast as the old car was stock isn’t great. Fine for most drivers who never rev beyond 3k and are cross shopping a Corolla, I guess.
I’m sorely disappointed with this offering but not for the styling. I’d say I’m agnostic on both the X and XI Civic. Really everything in this class. Certainly in stock form. The last thing I really liked, aesthetically, was the Focus RS and that hardly counts. This isn’t a segment for beautiful...
I don’t really know why you are hype about the suspension. The 10th Gen had CTR compliance bushings too. “In addition to adaptive dampers, suspension upgrades include stiffer spring rates, more rigid stabilizer bars (+30 percent front, +60 percent rear), solid front and rear compliance bushings...
The thing we want is more power. Still gotta void the warranty for that. Not that it concerns me too much (the warranty that is) but not much exciting me about this car.
Single mass flywheel is cool. Individual driver mode is nice. I mean, other than that, I’m not running to trade. Can’t believe we still can’t get 220 HP from the factory. I guess if the clutch can hold more torque (probably not) in addition to being SMF then you can get it from the aftermarket...
I agree. It will be the Civic Si hatch we asked for, but not the Integra we hoped for. With the Acura/nostalgia markup. I’m definitely less excited for the Integra than I was.
So I guess glass half empty view would be “rebadged Civic hatch” and glass half full view would be “Civic Si hatch”, which many said they wanted.
People, including auto journalists who presumably should know better, talk like Honda doesn’t do this or that to the Si because it will “steal sales from the Type R.” No, they don’t do it because these are low-volume cars and it does not make sense to dump a bunch of development dollars into...
