it depends on the states laws. we use a service to collect tax / handle reg on every out of state deal that is financing with us. if youre paying cash its usually just us charging our local DMV fees & letting you leave on an in transit tag that gives you a few wks to go to your license...
yea good luck with that. i run dealerships in the NE and can tell you that it never works out well when theres this many pieces to the puzzle. have you searched the motoring obsession tracker to try to find one closer to you so you can drive your trade in?
no because youre buying out of state and every state is different. here in NC we pay a property tax that a dealership would have no idea about (like in CT how there us a luxury tax on vehicles over $65k)
if youre financing a car, a dealership uses an out of state service to collect tax / register the vehicle & then you either get sent the plates or have to pick them up at the dmv (usually a few hundred $). as far as smog or any other state specific things, you still have to go get them done

compared to most other cars, drone doesnt seem as bad on the fl5 imo. i have the awe touring on my fk8 and while the drone is tolerable in 6th when cruising, i most def. wouldnt take it on a roadtrip lol
