Agree with the overall comments. I just spent 4 hrs attacking the mtns of NC/ TN including the Tail of The Dragon along with a Ruf 911 TURBO and a 911R. The DSC (OTS) allowed me to outcorner these cars on the twisty roads and made me smile. The other drivers were amazed at how controlled the car...
I was considering doing some of the same upgrades as you have done and are considering. I ended up changing directions after spending more time with the CTR.
The question that you really need to ask yourself is ...what are you trying to fix and how best to do it. I came to the conclusion that...
I couldn't agree more with this assessment on the current CTR/ITS chassis. The key point comes down to what you want from your car and how do you drive.
I will repeat the comments made earlier...this is an incredibly well designed and executed FWD platform that is very versatile and competent...
Don't know your experience with swaybar or bracing effects on chassis dynamics but the fundamental issue of what I believe you are described is a weight transfer issue, or said differently a delay in weight transfer, regardless of whether it is caused by bracing or a swaybar.
In my opinion the...
I'm looking for a front splitter, but not for the usual aero reasons, but as a scuff protector for the bumper. Ideally it would be smaller and less obtrusive than a common aero splitter. Looking for something neat, clean and subtle.....any recommendations?
Not looking for carbon fiber but would...
Not sure I understand your technical term "squish". Are you referring to a laziness in cornering including turn-in feel when in Comfort suspension setting on stock set-up]?
Regarding your comment on "stiffening plates" with the CTR, I don't think you'll need any. With the attention Honda applied to the CTR stiffness to the body I don't foresee the need of any...unless you are going full attack track use.
Bc the front suspension mounts so close to the firewall...
I have a great Xpel dealer that does my ppf. For the wing Xpel has a one piece pre-cut form that covers the top, sides and leading edges...and extends over the back edge of the wing. This was the only areas of the wing where I needed ppf. I don't think there is a complete wing form (underside)...
I did both. I use an I door car cover for my car and I noticed some surface scratches on the leading edges and sides from using the cover. Ceramic is a good coating but adds minimal impact protection. Applying Ppf then ceramic coating provided peace of mind....and coating took only 10 mins.
Is the reason you are looking at larger tires (wheels) for increased grip or for looks/style?
Adding both larger heavier wheels and tires will make the car drive and feel much less responsive and susceptible to tramlining.
Swaybars are basically acting as a cornering spring...they only apply force when the car is not going straight. They are intended to act as a " final tweak" balancing out wheel spring rates and load transfer during turning. They will affect turn-in feel bc they increase the rate of load transfer...
Here's my 2016 RS on the Dragon...one of my favorite sporty weekend backroad cars.
I've spoken with CTR owners that have used the DE5 suspension module and ITS owners. The common comments from CTR owners that use or used the DE5 module is that it is a significant positive change on the overall...
Yes, you can tune it and DSC has tutorials. Also look at DSC SUSPENSION thread on Integra Type S site. At least one of the members has done the tuning for a car with springs and provides programming change suggestions.....a lot of tuning and diagnostic work already done. Also good background...
Recently installed a DSC unit on my stock 2025 CTR a few days ago and couldn't be more pleased. Thought I'd share my INITIAL experience with an "off the shelf" programmed DSC controller on a stock unmodified CTR suspension used in the REAL WORLD.
Bottomline: Works great as a plug and play...
I share your priorities and purpose for adding the DSC, nor will I track my car, so the likelihood that I will routinely fully use the true capabilities of the car are remote. I do enjoy having the expanded capabilities, but limited to aggressive street/mtn driving. The key handling points for...
Your overall positive comments are encouraging, focusing primarily on the ride quality and comfort. Have you been able to assess whether or not the handling and grip is compromised in the process, ie. Has the car added more roll, is the push better/reduced, and how does the car respond to...
I fully understand your observations on using overly stiff sway bar settings (RV6 comes to mind in middle and stiff hole setup). I am looking for a slight 10-15% increase in stiffness to aid in lower speed tight corner induced push on turns. A Whiteline 22mm rear bar in the softest setting...
