  1. AEM dryflow filter for PRL HVI intake

Why'd you cut your PRL filter open? Thought I was the only one that did strange things like that!
  2. Looking to buy PRL inlet couplers for OEM intake

I saw those on the site. I unfortunately already ordered the carbon inlet from you guys haha! I think I'll just stick to the HVI and inlet combo. It doesn't seem like anyone has any problems with the oiled PRL filters even in dusty climates. I guess they work pretty good!
  3. Looking to buy PRL inlet couplers for OEM intake

Hey everyone! I'm looking to buy the PRL silicone couplers that used to come with their inlet pipe kit made for the OEM air box. I asked PRL and they don't produce them anymore. The only way to use a PRL inlet now is to use it with the HVI. I have the inlet and HVI but would like the option to...
  4. Does anyone have the aFe Takeda air intake installed?

Love the look and simplicity of this intake. But when I had it and ran datalogs, fuel trims would be slightly positive and commanded AFR was noticeably more lean at WOT compared to OEM and PRL HVI. Not sure if it will cause any issues, but I don't want to be running leaner than OEM especially at...
  5. K&N Intake Installation Experience on FL5

Glad to hear! I'll be interested to see those logs!
  6. [Install Guide] Installing aFK8 spare tire and full kit in the FL5

Is the all weather tray for the fk8 or the FL5? Was looking to pick one up but don't know what will fit
  7. K&N Intake Installation Experience on FL5

Hi, do you still have this intake? Have you checked air fuel ratios and fuel trims? Thinking of picking one up!
  8. Boost Pressure after intake install

What I was doing is leaving the torque app running while driving for around 30 minutes and then look at the max boost for the drive. Obviously temperatures would vary week to week but the aftermarket intakes always had a higher peak boost. Regardless of temperature or gear.
  9. Boost Pressure after intake install

The ECU is stock and I've never touched any of the charge pipes/clamps. I noticed this behavior with both the PRL HVI and the AFE cold air intake. They both make 2-3 more psi peak than the OEM intake.
  10. PRL High Volume Intake Preorders Open 11am CST!

The AEM 2093DK filter fits the PRL HVI. Supposedly the AEM filters filter a lot better than oiled cotton gauze like the green filter that comes with the intake. However, the fact that AEM won't share any of that data makes me doubt them. If any of these filter companies made filters that...
  11. Boost Pressure after intake install

Hey everyone! I was curious if boost Pressure should change much after installing an intake on these cars. I have the PRL HVI and I noticed that my max boost is 2-3 psi higher with the HVI than with the OEM intake and filter. I've verified this by swapping between the intakes and the difference...
  12. Engine Rattle Under Boost?

I had the same thing happening with mine. Around 3-4k rpms and only when coming into boost under throttle. I thought it was the waste gate rattle even though everything I've read says the rattle only happens under deceleration. It turned out to be the hood scoop. Both of the bolts were loose...

  14. AEM dryflow filter for PRL HVI intake

In case you're curious, I just took mine apart to check after driving over 400 miles on a road trip through the Southwest desert. Upon removing the filter, the inside of the MAF housing was spotless. As well as the couplers and the rest of the intake tract. It seems that the AEM filter is...
  15. AEM dryflow filter for PRL HVI intake

I just installed mine today. I noticed the filter isn't really snug on the MAF housing. I had to tighten the clamp a lot before it would stay. Is yours like this? I'm a bit concerned the filter isn't sealing on the housing. It looks and feels like it is, but I'm not positive. Other than that...
  16. AEM dryflow filter for PRL HVI intake

Definitely! I had an AEM filter on my last car and it returned lower silicon and wear metals than the OEM filter on a Blackstone oil analysis. I'm happy to hear the AEM works well with the PRL intake. Is the sound the same?
