Go look at the track test impressions of the ITS. Itās no slouch. It inherits all the development put into the FL5 plus more development they are still doing
So your logic is that, again, the car is knocking on its factory tune when it's using the fuel (91) that's recommended in the owners manual? So your argument is that the car is hurting itself by knocking (over a long period of time) when using the Honda recommended fuel?
I can promise you with every fibre of my body that there is NOT knock on a factory stock FK8 when using the fuel octane it is specifically designed for (91). How knock works on the FK8 is documented over at the Civicx forums.
Essentially the Bosch ECU will retard timing from knock and forget...
FK8 had no benefits from mods or higher octane above 91 unless the ECU was tuned. I'd assume the FL5 is the same. So stick to 91 octane. Anything lower = bad idea. Anything higher = wasted $$
Unknown at the moment. Regardless it's a new platform with upgraded everything from the FK8. I'd be truly surprised if it wasn't an overall better package versus my FK8.
Honda gearboxes donāt like being slammed into gear apparently. Iāve grinded my FK8 twice in 28,000 km. Both times I was tired. 4th lockout has happened many times, but thatās the shift gates in the FK2/FK8. It wears down and goes away over time
If you get grinds normally -> go to the dealer...
I'll be honest the main feature I was looking for in the FL5 was if the Canadian models came with heated seats and steering wheel. It's the only thing that would really pushed me to consider moving from the FK8 :p
I'm happy you are enjoying the Golf R. AWD is superior to FWD.....but there is nothing about the FL5 the stops its from being and adequate winter car my dude
Bonjour from the FK8 side.
I love the look of the regular 19" oem FL5 wheels. Up here in Canada-land, they retail for ~$1000 CAD each = $732 USD. The forged wheels are $6200 CAD for the set. I know the forged wheels are available for less on the CollegeHillsHonda website - but does anyone...
They have 10x more people my guy. What never made sense to me was the Canadian LE allocation
U.S.A ~ 330 million - 600 units
Canada ~ 38 million - 100 units ????????
