I really do like them and saw one in person for maybe the first time today. They're terrifically executed cars and I definitely wouldn't rule out the possibility of one ending up in my possession someday.
The crazy thing is I do agree that it's a feature. I wouldn't be annoyed by it on a...
It's not that the fake engine noise is there, it's just how bad it is in the FL5. Honda's execution of the tone and volume combined is the most synthetic and downright annoying I've ever witnessed in any car. I've had an M4, and a 718 GTS 2.5, both of which get absolutely shit on by reviewers...
One more thing I'll chime in re: exhaust- as annoying as that high-pitched fake engine noise is in the FL5, it's better on a track. You cannot hear the DE5's engine while driving on a track. I will be getting an aftermarket exhaust eventually for this reason alone.
But the fake sound in the...
Doesn't sound like my experience with this issue. Mine could easily be replicated with the throttle; sounds like your issue is independent of throttle application. If that's the case it may not be related to the wastegate.
I've made the suggestion previously that the volume is louder for some than it is for others.
Also to my experience it was very noticeable in the first thousand miles or so; music, on a call, windows up or down it was there and it drove me nuts. However, it has appeared to be almost completely...
The simple answer is no, and I wouldn't expect there to ever be anything substantial to "resolve" this "problem".
Porsche gets away with it in a 911 because it's a rear-engined car. Honda/Acura have their reasons. It's annoying but in the broad scheme of things it's not that big of a deal.
I really wouldn't worry about the suspension. Yes, if something breaks then it likely won't get replaced under warranty... but let's be real here let's just say you install springs, and it accelerates the wear of the OEM dampers. By the time they're trashed to the point they need replaced, I'm...
There seems to be a lot of these types of questions about "voiding the warranty" popping up- seems only natural as more and more people with FL5s/DE5s get their cars tuned and are seeing impressive results...
There does have to be evidence that the aftermarket parts/tune contributed to the...
Lol you beautiful sunuvabitch, they're already gone but I probably wouldn't have been able to resist and snapped these up.
That said now that I have time to think, I may give the market a while to figure some things out. It's not the cost that bothers me about the Ohlins at all... it's just...
I think it's just me but I'm feeling like the pretentiousness is dialed up to 11 the past few days on these boards.
Savagegeese also mentioned something along the lines that Honda dealers aren't used to this type of entitled behavior from customers who just assume everyone are idiots.
It's a...
You did touch a nerve, I'm not going to try to deny that. I wasn't kidding. I lost over $50k in a 3-4 year span because I went through 12 cars (some of which were for the kids/wife but still, that's far too many). Fortunately it didn't ruin me financially but over time I just started feeling...
Ok ok it's not really that fun to troll; in reality (most) TEs look fantastic, this is all tongue-in-cheek. There's a reason they're popular.
But it is definitely noteworthy just how many people pick the TE37s despite them being very, very expensive.
I'm looking very hard at the G025s...
If someone knew this, pictures would be all over the internet and there would be at least 4 threads on this forum about it.
No, not the same thing. It's not like I don't understand the want to own a bunch of cars. That's a very basic concept I'm sure everyone on this board can relate to.
Do...
Still cracks me up to see subjective things like "turn in" or "more planted" pop up when describing the "specialness" of the Type R, from people who chose the Type R. The suspension hardware is the exact same, the only difference is the tuning (arguably downforce but show me evidence where it...
I don't see how people continue to get away with the "multiple cars a year" thing. If you're trading the cars in then you're just stuffing the dealers' pockets with margin. If you're not then you're paying tens of thousands of dollars in sales tax (some states would be both...). Either way is...
AGREED, 100%. How anyone can be self-aware and look at a set of TE37s and think, "I need to pay $4k for those" is just simply beyond my ability to comprehend.
