Been 5 months since my last post. No major additions.
I painted the mirror covers red. I also added a SpoilerKing upper hatch spoiler, painted white.
I recently replaced the faded and cracked front lip with a fresh one (same design).
Got a Hawkdown knob, which is a copy of the Battlecraft...
I like the Circuit Hero Type B. Generally I don't like ball-shaped knobs, but the Type B's tapered neck makes it comfortable. The Circuit Hero looks taller, but it is countersunk 15mm. The others are not.
The Competition Rod, Maxim, and Acuity ESCO were all too fat/thick for for my stubby hands. I had a Spoon knob, but it was too skinny. I feel like Goldilocks. 👧 After I sold most of them, I cycle between Skunk2, Circuit Hero Type B, and HawkDown (BattleCraft copy).
At first I thought it was a Honda Element meet. Honda officially announced it on FaceBook earlier this month. Their website still shows 2025 dates as of this writing.
I got the notice and I don't have any steering issues 🤞. I'm reluctant to get it done after my previous dealership experience. I took my car for an AC leak warranty repair. I picked it up hours later with 50 more miles on the odometer. My mistake was taking it to a small dealership near my...
This guy on Reddit did something different with his Acuity shifter.
I have a Hybrid Racing shifter with a boot delete on my Sport. I wanted a black plastic boot delete plate. I got mine from IG. The FL5 plate has a smaller opening, so specify your model.
I used foam packaging from a shift knob...
One option is a 70a PowerFlex insert for 1/4 the price of most motor mounts. Another option is buying the Wunderladen street mount, plus the race bushings separately and swapping between the two.
The Skunk2 knob (modeled after 90's Type R knobs) is almost perfect for my hand size, but I wish it was 10mm taller. For the past few months I used a Circuit Hero knob, which fits my palm well. I recently bought a 140mm shift rod for my Hybrid Racing shifter (comes with 110mm). I still don't...
Spoon Sports aluminum shift knob. This is the tall version for 10th & 11th generation Civics. I received it from Black Hawk Japan in November 2025. I used it for a month. This knob is too skinny for my preference. Includes a sock/cover for hot days. $60 picked up in Socal (Fullerton or Pomona)...
When my Civic had 800 miles the AC wasn't cold enough. I went to Buena Park Honda near my house. They said an O ring was faulty and fixed it under warranty. My car had 50 miles more on the odometer than when I dropped it off. I wonder if someone took a joy ride because my car is a manual.
I installed the HR detent springs 10 months ago. I also have the HR shifter and cable bushings. The springs increase the effort/force needed to go in/out of gear. The resistance is comparable to shifting an automatic between PRND. The automatic's tactile feedback allows you to feel which gear...
Installed Si front calipers, pads, and rotors. Si is 12.3". Non-Si is 11.1". Si pads are wider and taller. Only modification is bending back the dust shield. Reused my stock brake lines and banjo bolts. 2022+ Si front brakes are also found on 2023+ Acura Integra (not Type S) and 2018+ Accord...
Some people remove the 3 ball joint bolts. If you do, don't make this guy's mistake (see 9:35 mark).
This video shows removing the axle nut.
I didn't remove the 3 ball joint nuts, nor the axle nut. I just removed the 17mm strut knuckle bolt and loosened the 3 top strut bolts, then I used...
My only complaint about the PowerFlex inserts was the strong vibration at idle with AC on. Sitting at a stop light with AC running, I saw the top of the infotainment screen vibrating/rocking back-and-forth. 😬
