You've been asking this question since you bought the car and very likely well before it. The answer has been given multiple times and that was pretty clear that no one knows.
Even if there were multiple hundred-thousand mile examples of type R's out there the reality is that within all...
Can I send you a DM? I'm have an arbitration hearing with Honda on 9/7 for lemon law on a 2024 Civic Touring. Curious to know what process you went through.
I asked a trusted Honda tech years ago about what he thought about the maintenance minder intervals and got a surprisingly simple answer. He asked what the oil on the dip stick looked like at 3k, 5k, or 7k miles, etc. If it looks dirty change it regardless of the oil life remaining on the dash...
Mine has 87 minimum printed on the gas cover, but states 91 is recommended. I'd be willing to bet just about anything that dealers are putting in 87 during the PDI.
It's pretty simple to test where the clutch is fully disengaged. Put the car in 1st gear and slowly release the clutch while your foot is on the brake. When the clutch makes contact with the flywheel the RPM will start to drop.
but.... as others have said why not just push it to the floor and...
2024 honda 5,000 miles... not my type R, but also absolutely not uncommon on new Honda's. I honestly hate saying it, but the quality is seriously in decline.
I love my type R and have owned over 20 Honda's, but the new ones aren't what they were in the 90's-2000's. I also have a 22 mustang cs/gt premium and this view gets reinforced every time I drive the Ford. It's significantly ahead of honda in fit, finish, and overall build quality. Even my GF...
Ohio, 43, and paid off. The super simple answer is I'll only finance if the rate is less than I'm earning from the same capital invested. Rates were insane when I bought and inflation was destroying the value of cash. Figured I'd buy now before they got more expensive and I had even less buying...
I've had 2 new mustangs. 2021 6spd, and 2022 A10. Both absolutely flawless. The CTR is awesome but nowhere near the build quality of the Fords. I hate to say it because I'm Honda guy through and through, but the new ones just aren't on the same level as what they used to be.
Couldn't agree more. The shit manufacturers do for torture testing and vetting of engines before sending them out to consumers is absolutely wild. (Ford's was pretty well documented on the 5.0, and I'm pretty certain Honda isn't doing less.. lol)
Will defects happen? Absolutely, but to think...
