We could call the Honda tech line on the first occurrence of a problem. There was no specific rule regarding when to call, unless it was something like the Odyssey transmissions that used to blow second gear or the civic motors with the porous blocks. In which case we needed the sign off from...
Not the person you asked, but I love my hybrid racing shifter. It makes the throws, especially 1-2 so much shorter. After using it for a few months I couldn't imagine going back to stock slop. I want to get one for my son's Si now because that car has the worst shifter I have ever felt.
Personal opinion from someone who is heavily modified, I'd do a tune, intake, and exhaust. Maybe the TSP downpipe if you don't mind a bit of extra noise from the exhaust.
These couple things alone will eat a good chunk of your budget, but not all of it, and should give you the fun you are...
Still a work in progress but yesterday and today I did Spoon springs and an Exedy Stage 1 clutch. Still have RV6 rear arms and sway bar to install. Along with new brake hoses and RBF600 brake fluid.
After much deliberation, I replaced the clutch today with the Exedy Stage 1 as multiple people recommended. We'll see how it holds up because the stock one was definitely slipping. I could see the signs on the pressure plate when I pulled it.
Car is still under the knife for more upgrades, so I...
When you do the HPFP bolts and the adapter bolts, be VERY careful. They are very easy to over torque and you absolutely should use a known good torque wrench.
I installed mine with the stock boot and shift knob. I don't like the no boot look and it's too easy for things to fall in the hole. I don't plan on ever adjusting the shifter from the settings I have now, so it wasn't an issue for me.
I haven't installed it yet but I'm going with the ACT 6 puck sprung disc. Along with their pressure plate and flywheel. Hoping to do the install in the next month or 2.
I have the MK808BT and it has the option. It's also loaded with other options, like the ability to program keys. Mine paid for it self immediately with that option.
The RV6 coupler with the r660as inlet works perfectly. As that's what I am using. But I have never tried it with a different inlet, since I don't have a different one and need the one I have for my r660as.
I didn't take any pictures but in my case it did not fit correctly with that mount connected. Maybe because I have a bigger radiator and Acuity reverse flow hoses?
