No way, even golf r is at about 47k now. But type r is the better car even without the AWD. I bought my golf r brand new in 2019 for 40k, those were good days for buyers.

I personally don't get the GRC. it's wait too rushed and overpriced. I'd wait for another 2 to 3 years for the model to mature. Also, maybe this has no relevance to the GRC, but after the issues they've been having with the GR86, I'd be a little nervous getting a GRC atm.

Well if you're not top 2 or 3 at your dealership, you're probably not getting one this year. And if you're in USA, price is something you have to negotiate with your dealership unfortunately.

My guess is 51,999 MSRP. So yes about 60k out the door, pretty reasonable with tax + interest. If your paying cash, lucky you. If you're doing some sort of 7yr financing you can add another 14k on that price. So bigger the downpayment the better.

Well to be fair every manufacturer is having issues with this atm due to a recent shortage. I mean they seem to be doing their best, would you rather they rush production?
