I'm planning on vacuuming with a boar's hair brush to agitate the dust. It'll be a little annoying, but something to do every other weekend I guess ?‍♂️
I'm most excited for the front vents to be revealed. It's not really going to be make or break for me ultimately wanting this vehicle, but I'm really hoping for more body-color and less black plastic cladding, unlike the previous gen
Oh yeah, of course. I was just lamenting the current market. It'll be a challenge to find one at MSRP, given that it was already a challenge when the FK8 was available for sale without the COVID madness
Mid 30s and looking at the 11th gen type r in white. Planning to keep it 15-20 years, so that would put me into my 50s, at which time I'd be ready to move on to a Lexus LS460 or something ?
The challenge with this vehicle (and the GR86, unfortunately), is what gave it its existence: shared platforms with other brands.
I get that the B58 is supposed to be an amazing engine, and the bored-out boxer is great as well, but I can't confidently get my car entirely serviced by Toyota in...
So it looks like the "cool" GRC will cost as much as a Type R. Looks like it's still between the CTR and the Elantra N when 2023/2024 rolls around.
Hope everyone's been having fun with the new car news these past couple days!
Now THAT will be an interesting comparison. Rear seat legroom has me concerned Re: the GRC, but maybe I'll end up sucking it up because it'll be such an awesome vehicle (that rear-quarter view has me bothered and hot). US dealers are already salivating at the potential markup I'm sure
Yooo, that looks epic! Can't wait for the end of this year. Maybe Hyundai will fix the Elantra's front plastics to match body-color paint too. 2023's gonna be SWEET ?
Oh right, thanks for the reminder. Given the A-Spec's pricing ($36k), I think the Type-S will put itself out of where I'm trying to land, but that's TBD ?‍♂️
Gen 11 Type R, Elantra N (DCT), GR Corolla.
Decisions, decisions... ?
I think it'll be based on which has the least markup around 2023/24, if the world's still around by then ?‍♂️
There's good and there's bad, but overall the situation is... tough.
Case in point, a Supra (6cyl) at a local dealer has a $15k markup. $81k MSRP is what they're saying online ?‍♂️
? to the Si pricing; also not impressed with the car market right now.
I'm really hoping it normalizes in the next two years or so... which is when I'd be ready to buy a Type R. The GR Corolla might also make the list depending on specs and price at that point.
Wishing us all luck whenever...
For the record, I think you can remove the structural bars with 4 bolts. And I'd be sorely tempted to get the DCT if I got an "N" vehicle.
In the US, with Type R markups, it's probably going to be a $10k differential
