Did you see any reinforcement to help the back hatch hold up to the additional "Downforce" (not sure if it's a functional spoiler or solely cosmetic), or was it literally just drilling and mounting it into the composite material of the hatch?
Looks great btw!
I'm not sure you read my entire comment. The $20k was speaking to getting a regular Camry/Civic, and I finished by saying "for under $25 you could get..."
To your point, yes, you are getting more car now for $28k than you were for $23k in 2015, and adjusting for inflation, $23k in 2015 is...
Maybe, but if it's just another $2-3k for the GR Corolla, and that reviews as a better driver's car, that'll most likely get my cash.
Acura's latest styling hasn't really drawn me in, so that's a hurdle to overcome as well.
Looks like I'll be looking at a Sport Civic hatch manual, GR Corolla, or Type R, depending on when I get another car and how long I have to save up between now and then. Si just doesn't quite do it for me, given the cost bump over the hatch I've mentioned
What a day, 257hp is over 80hp/cyl. Even big thumpers like the Husky 701 only turn 75 or so.
Yeah, I should feel that way (I promise my mind is on the same page), but Type-R!
Glad for the extra competition and options out there. The next 2-4 years before the end of ICE as we know it will be a...
Vroom vroom
But seriously, rear seat room loses to Type R, cargo room loses to Type R, aesthetics are subjective, but if they pull out a winner on price, I might be swayed. At this point, it looks better to me than Hyundai's "N" cars
Those are all fair points. Given your (assumed) budget of $40k, and looking outside of coupes/hatchbacks because we've already explored those, it limits you to the WRX (ew), GR Corolla, Elantra N (possibly a better interior), or if you're willing to top out your budget, the Lexus IS300 (meh)...
Do you think it would be worthwhile to consider a car like the new BRZ/GR86? The power band is much improved from the prior generation. Another vehicle to consider might be the Veloster N. Fun and FWD with a good amount of power. Just thought I'd throw those out there
The first part is disappointing, and if they do actually handicap the Type R to give the Type S a perceived boost, I'm just going to get a used G70 6cyl instead. Eff that crap, especially with the coming markups which we know they'll have ??
Maybe this means we'll get two versions of the Type R, one that's stripped down, and one that's touring, with heated and ventilated seats (that'd be a dream)
Yeah. I'm waiting to see what the final looks like, but i kinda like the HPD spoiler better at this point. My thinking is that maybe the side skirts, diffuser, and front lip in their proper colors will help everything to look more cohesive. Guess we'll find out soon-ish, meaning in a few months
