Thanks, I actually kept and used this same username for ages. Even back in the AOL AIM days, anybody remember that? Damn I'm getting old. I used to enjoy BBQing a lot with flavored wood and charcoal, and that's what some of my friends called me. 😅. I didn't know there was an actual MrBBQ place...
Nice, which tuning platform are you choosing? I want Hondata and missed the last local tour. They usually do discounts for their tours so now waiting for the next one.
Part of my decision to get it was also due to the Black Friday sale in November, as it was a bit cheaper. If you're not in a hurry, just make a list of what you want and wait for sales. I already have a list for this coming Black Friday. For the upcoming HRC accessories, the Acuity Shifter...
You can see how mechanical the movement is, no slop, and hear the distinct CLUNK of every gear. Smiles per shift to money spent of the shifter is well worth it IMO.
That PPF wrap looks so good. Any pics in the daytime? Having more lowering options is good! Fortune Auto offers a similar setup as well, the VHLS (Variable Height Lowering Springs) for $1069, expensive for what it is IMO. The BC Racing ASP is $815. Their complete coilovers is $400 more, but...
46 this month! I never feel too old for the FL5. Wife said "OMG, how old are you?" when she drove me to pick it up. I did tell her I was getting a Civic, not a Type R. Not like she knows what a Type R is anyways. I pointed at the trunk. "You see? It IS a Civic." 😂
100% agree with what joshinthecity said. You just have to feel this shifter in person to believe. I was very hesitant to get one until I felt one in an Si, it's that good! Highly recommended, every shift is so satisfying.
That's a cool buggy you got there! I'm not going to miss the days where the nitro car just won't start and troubleshooting takes forever. How long do the batteries usually last?
They do offer a finished painted body shell and unpainted as well. I'm going to to see if I can source a painted body shell so I can focus on building my own 1/10 chassis. That's part of the fun in owning RC cars! I've a lot to read up on. New technology VS the nitro days...
Thanks! Good to hear from someone with modern RC car experience. Nitro builds back then are almost like real cars with motors running on fuel and multiple gear transmissions. As if I do not have enough hobbies already and lack of spare time, a modern RC build would be indeed fun. Mid mid-life...
Anybody into RC cars? Just found a FL5 RC car kit. Was into Nitro cars back in the day, this looks like a lot of fun!

I know it's not hard to remove the EBP motor and manually wind it back. The FL5 loves to burn through rear pads, so it's handy to have a scanner with the EPB functionality. Easier and time saved is a win in my book. The AP200 isn't very expensive.
That's a nice scanner. I have an Ancel scanner that I used before getting the AP2500. I wanted one of these BT scanners due to their size and convenience, and they're not that expensive.
Been hearing people using the Autel AP200 to put the Civic's rear brakes in service/maintenance mode, so I had bought the Autel AP2500. This one is advertised as the newer model over the AP200, so it's assumed it does everything the AP200 does. Found out it does not and cannot even put the Civic...
