Plenty of people have gotten one at MSRP earlier on or recently via east coast dealers.
On paper the dealers cant sell above MSRP but they absolutely can get around it in many ways. Newmarket and Ottawa Honda both sold their recent units for $70K
The real blame lies with Honda Canada as they...
I think the red one at Newmarket has been advertised for a few weeks on FB marketplace.
Queensway Honda also received a red one as well. I'm supposed to be 2nd in line but who knows with the games that are being played. I only know they got one because I refresh their website daily.
I called...
I just got off the phone with them. They arent budging on all that crap. They want $70k. They told me they didnt take any deposits for allocations. The whole thing is a debacle. Clowns at Honda Canada are giving vehicles to dealers with no orders rather than dealers who have customers waiting.
Called Barrie Honda. They claim they do not have an FL5 coming in. I'd guess in about 6 weeks they will have a "used" one with 300km for $70K available.
They would need to be federalized for our market, so doubtful. I think we are in the same group. Apparently Performance Honda has three coming in and Classic Honda has six.
The ITS isnt a special car. AT $55K would rather pay more and get the CTR. With only 540 units for Canada, it is likely it wont depreciate much. Even Fk8s (2900 for Canada) with low km cost more than what they were new.
I've owned 18 Hondas, 2 Toyotas. Got tired of waiting and ended up buying another brand. I still have my deposit at the dealer but I'm confident I wont get one.
That's not what I remember. The market was always very strong even pre-Covid. They sold more 2018s than any other year in Canada. I think 2018s were $42800. An '18 with 30k km sells for well over $40K today. We got screwed here. From 2900 units to 546.
Canada got twice as many FK8s but our population is 1.6X, not as egregious as AUS getting almost 6x FL5 per capita. Canada is a far stronger market for Honda. Before the pandemic sales were 4x that of Australia. The Civic was the best selling car in Canada 24 years in a row.
