I haven’t heard anything from them recently - but yes, I was told they should get 2-3 at about one per year starting with the 2023 MY (now courtesy of @RazgrizOne ?). I’m apparently third on their list so I’ve gone in expecting a late 2024 or 2025 delivery date.
Samer’s pictures above...
I do not - doesn’t appeal to me personally as much as the new CTR. Did you? If you mentioned it earlier in the thread my bad.
If this falls through I’m more likely to go the sports coupe route, something along the lines of a GR86 or F87 M2. At least I think so for now, anyway.
I know it’s been said a million times over in this thread but I hope all of us end up with one.
It’ll be real nice when we can move on from procurement discussion and simply talk about ownership experiences and journeys. ??
I didn’t end up doing so, no. I figured—and to RazgrizOne’s point—there’s no real harm in me keeping the deposit there since I don’t need it back right now/am not in a rush and they also haven’t returned it yet (due to no allocations received, for example).
My guess is one of two things:
1)...
Cheers - I'll reach out to my guy tomorrow and see what he says. Really hoping they haven't just been stringing me along since early last summer.
I can understand them potentially waiting and seeing if they may receive more allocations but if they concretely know otherwise... that's...
Interesting! I'm supposedly #3 on their list but as far as I know they haven't returned any deposits... yet.
I'll have to reach out to them based on your comment - maybe they learned the latter part recently.
Definitely worth the in-person look at Toronto Honda. Here are a few snaps I took—its stance and presence truly don’t come through in photos alone. With my FL1 to compare to, the FL5 has a lot of great, aggressive design cues that separate it from the regular Civic Hatchback and are very...
So it was spotted outside of the Honda Canada office last week just after the official release. I drove over on Friday evening to see if it was still there but to no avail ?
From the #TORONTOCARSPOTTING group on Facebook--third time this past week since the launch! Seems to be one of the first ones on the road here in Canada, but I think it's just a press/media car of sorts as the first time it was spotted was just outside the Honda Canada office in Markham (same...
American Honda newsletter says the exact same... crazy if they are indeed planning to just start sending them out ASAP here in Canada as well! I'm excited
Super insightful - thanks for the relay of information! Perhaps the official information release from Honda will be in line with the media embargo next week that C&D mentioned.
Here is the post that had a screenshot of the email sent out to Canadians re: CW, RR, and SGP available. Fingers crossed though it's just for the first model year and doesn't rule out CBP and BB for 2024-2025, as others here have said.
Right, I guess 3 years makes sense from a timeline/roadmap perspective then. It's going to be surreal when Type R refers to Honda's performance EVs 8-10 years from now.
I wonder what an FL5 LE could look like in the ICE's swan song year, if they do it!
No no, I'm asking have we already discussed why Honda opted for a 3-year production run. ?
That is—relative to Honda's long-term corporate goals, the current circumstances, their competitor's positions, etc.
Has it already been discussed why Honda opted for a 3-year production run for the FL5 (sorry if I missed it)?
Is it the roadmap for the Type R/Honda in general to hybridization and electrification? I know the situation is mostly the same with Toyota's upcoming GR Corolla; are they only planning...
