I canāt as I left the car and took a loaner. But I went through your profile and found your video, itās the same sound.
Wasnāt there before the recall, and steering feel is really vague.
I thought about asking that as well but I doubt it due to ālegal / lability reasonsā; Iām really struggling to figure out how this recall broke the steering rack essentially.
the only reason I did the recall was I believed I experienced some jolting at the wheel last weekend over choppy...
I feel like I can hear it when going over bumps as well, Iām not sure how that is not an issue, so forgive my ignorance.
I did not have this issue or the noise before doing the work gear recall, and now Iām starting to regret doing it to begin with.
what I can tell you is that when we went in the shop and went under the car he had me place my hands on the tie rods while he moved the wheels left to right. They shifted about 1 inch in either direction making the same noise I heard when shifting the sheeting wheel left to right in the cabin.
Yours has 70k on it? Thatās impressive. Whatās your play here? Iām not by any mean a mechanic but Iām trying to figure whats the best move here so Iām gathering a lot of opinions and asking other people their experiences.
Unrelated but it looks as though youāre not far from me, so hey neighbor :)
Update: took the car back this morning, shop foreman took me under the car and showed me play in, you guessed it, the steering rack. Itās up on the lift until it can be further looked at on Monday. Iām pretty disappointed that the car seems fine in this area before the recall, now itās having...
Iām in the game now too, took it in for the damn recall and a day later Iāve got a clunk while in the parking lot. š this is while I swear I hate dealers.
First car I ever legally drove was my Mom's Honda Civic, go figure. After that I went to a 2011 Camaro RS, jumped into a 2012 Wrangler for 7 years and loved every moment, sold it to buy a 2021 full sized Ford Bronco, now here I am in the Type R.
The Type R and Wrangler are the best vehicles...
I've just accepted this sound at this point, no real bother to me (and I'm someone who is incredibly sensitive to small rattles and sounds) and I've accepted that its the way the car is. Rather not have a dealer pull it off, fuck something up, give the car back and it's still happening.
Had mine
Had my trim piece going crazy today, started colder and heated up by midday and it starting ticking a bunch. Probably not gonna do much about it tbh. It's not annoying enough for me to let anyone try and fix it.
The last time I took my car in for service they scratched the living...
She get's nothing but 93 from me. I'd rather just fill it with the best then have it develop an issue or otherwise. Just makes sense and it's one less thing to think about.
Wow, I'm at 7 months with nearly 13k on her, I feel like I'm racking up miles super fast but this car was meant to be driven and it's my one and only car! So it shall be, I love this thing and I guess if I felt like getting a second car at some point in the future I could always get another CTR...
Whoa, I haven't been the biggest fan of carbon on these cars but that wing looks super slick, almost didn't even notice it was carbon. I love that it's a bit lowkey.
