Ive recorded the sound 4 individual times but unfortunately the two phones I have have very poor mic input quality, it's not intelligible from the recordings, you can't really distinguish it. Too much white noise terrible microphones.
Yea I've also been advised that I need to inspect the forced induction side to confirm the turbo bearing.
I'm dumping on this thing it'll get back up and running. Sucks but I love the car and I learned my lesson.
Will likely end up doing
Turbo bearing check
Pending result, bore scope to...
yea custom tune was one of the things i was considering, smoother would be better the basemap is a blanket when what i need is a jacket so to speak
will have pan dropped and check rod+bearing health within next 1-2 days. result to follow
at this point this is for science and my ability to...
Not launching from a dig. Just rolling
Motor mounts were checked, they are good torque to spec.
I was pistol gripping third to fourth and I was running it hard as hell so I palmed the shifter into second it's clearly user error no debate there
dropping pan checking for spun bearing or bent...
violent noise came back yesterday wish i could capture it, my phones have shit audio so i can't despite trying... if i could show you guys a clip you'd understand the concern... the noise at 1600 rpm is voilent
also I did a very correct breakin I've changed oil several times by 5k so when I get the oil reading any lack or presence of solids in the oil based on that will be an indicator clear as day. It's not looking too bad as of now after ongoing monitoring
Have not checked rmm yet it was set at specced 69 lb/ft iirc I'll have to check it.
The good news is that I'm still on the next step of oil analysis and this far hVe been unable to recreate the noise issue
update - ongoing monitoring
1. when cold - not much added NVH beyond added NVH from PRL RMM
2. when hot - after long drives - very much added NVH between 1k - 2k rpms
3. regardless of compression test and leakdown test result being good - i will be doing a check on connecting rods and rod...
results back car in my posession, looks like no damage, may end up doing some motor work anyway this may just be the demark point that begins some motor upgrades anyway like above post stated
my main concern is the notable added noise vibration and harshness between 800-1500 and just about 2100-2300, after the event there is now a noticably louder oscillating vibrational noise that is clearly tied to drive train. anyway i will be recieving results from the compression and leak down...
yea i basically signed up for voided warranty when i ventured into modifying the car, i have made my peace with the void of my warranty, the main problem is the physical damage (if any, hopefully compression test is all good in which case i dust my hands of the issue as well) and getting it...
Fuck man
Third gear highway pull, torque steer hit when turbo and VTEC hit pulling my body to the left slightly, just enough to where my hand position when I pulled down to go fourth gear was actually diagonal and therefore put me into second gear at 63 MPH. In theory this speed in second...
Anyone else observing this?
Every so often - while playing bluetooth audio (smart phone on youtube music)
an audible static pop or tick through the speakers will occur.
Usually only happens a single time every so often.
driving me nuts.
now, I have had aftermarket security installed in the...
just to clarify here, when you open the screw page the default shown specification is M5 x 12mm, is that the correct screw or do I need to navigate to a different specification of screw shown on the page?
lost my first one today off of the air filter mounting side on the PRL HVI. looking to...
if you habitually run the fuel tank to near empty your stock fuel pump will eventually need to be replaced. it's best to have it effectively fully submerged to help preserve the life of the pump. you can achieve this by keeping the gas tank higher than 50% habitually
