  1. Sudden Power Loss Driving On Freeway

I hate to say it, but I’m not buying that explanation. Maybe I’m wrong though. Freekin modern cars are way over engineered.
  2. Whirrin/ mechanical sound from dash/steering column at startup and shut down.

That’s normal. It’s the solenoid engaging and disengaging the steering wheel lock.
  3. P0191 code

Anyone here with a Type R ever get a P0191 ā€œFuel rail pressure sensor circuit/performanceā€ code? I started my car this morning and it idled like shit for about 30 seconds then smoothed out. A quick inspection under the hood revealed nothing so I started driving to work. The car was bucking under...
  4. What did you do to your FL5 today?

Installed my new security system. If you’ve seen Alien Earth, you know. If not, well, you’re in for a rough time.
  5. What did you do to your FL5 today?

Every time I open your posts, I still expect to see your SGP car!
  6. The Importance of Carrying a Full Size Matching Spare Wheel & Tire

I’m going to do the same with my donut spare. I bought the entire FK8 kit with the replacement load floor, but it’s not a perfect fit (though close) without adding extra blocks around the perimeter for even support across the floor. Plus it raises the floor up a lot and the whole thing seems...
  7. The Importance of Carrying a Full Size Matching Spare Wheel & Tire

Damn! That sucks. Smart thinking having the spare though! I am driving to upstate NY in a couple of weeks and I decided it was finally time to buy the spare tire kit, though I only have a little donut spare which isn’t ideal, but better than being stranded. It’s amazing that potholes like that...
  8. Axion Industries J swap build

Look at the maw on that snail!
  9. Sudden Power Loss Driving On Freeway

Yikes! That sounds scary as hell. Did everything cut out when the engine died, like the headlights and dash lights, etc? I think the first thing to do is make sure all electrical connections are secure, starting with the battery and engine grounds, etc. I don’t think a dying key fob battery...
  10. Get the steering recall done or keep on trucking?

Lol. I’m at the same mileage without issue. I’m also on the fence about getting the recall done. I worry more about the technician lottery than the repair itself. If I knew the person who would be doing the repair was competent, I’d just have it done. I’m not willing to roll the dice yet though...
  11. Axion Industries J swap build

For a minute there I thought that sticker said ā€œTraum 2024ā€šŸ˜¦
  12. '25 brake pedal dead-travel sticky/clunky/noisy

With the hissing and fluttering noises, it sounds like something going on with the brake booster maybe. I might try, with the engine off, pulling the vacuum hose off the booster to see if that effects the noises/ feeling at all.
  13. Looking for feedback on different tire/wheel size.

I forgot to ask, do you notice any reduction in traction with the 255s, either when cornering or during acceleration? Also, how is the steering response with this size compared to stock?
  14. Looking for feedback on different tire/wheel size.

Well, blow me down! I never knew this, I always assumed wider tires had a bigger contact patch. Thanks for the education! Now that I’ve been reading into this a bit, it makes sense. Considering this, I’m wondering if a 255/35/19 might be a contender as I don’t track the car and I doubt I’d...
  15. Looking for feedback on different tire/wheel size.

I might consider a 275/30/19 for a little extra traction. I agree that most 18s don’t look as good as 19s. I’m a cheapskate too, so the idea of dropping $3k on wheels does not appeal to me Yes, the 1st and 2nd gear traction issue is prevalent after a tune! I actually had to flash back to...
  16. šŸ”“šŸ’Š Engine Oil Red Pill Thread: Only Post If You Have UOA - Official Honda Civic Type R K20C1 Engine Oil Analysis

OK, I guess I’ll be using my last OEM filter for a gearshift knob or something. Thanks for the heads up! If you get bored, you should cut the old filter open to see if anything looks amiss.
  17. Shifter Plate in Ti - CUSTOM - Designed with JDC Customs (warning, eye candy)

I’m not big into appearance mods, but this is freekin’ cool!
