I read somewhere along the way that the FL5 generated 90kg/200lb of downforce at 200kph/125mph.
Also remember reading somewhere that the FK8 had about 1/3 that.
No info about what the OEM Carbon wing adds, but would love to know as well.
I think Honda might be trolling the couple last non-metric markets - cause it says Max 30, and 30kmh = 18.64mph, which is roughly where the red tick is showing on the photo. Or they just made a dumb mistake.
Has anyone with their valve opened long-term noticed a significant amount more soot on the centre exhaust pipe? I've had mine open since the day this was posted, and I'm enjoying the sound, no light/code - but extra soot compared to before this mod.
How do you find the 'regular driving' NVH and stuff now - suitable for a daily-driven car? I'm not really looking for any further stiffness, but would always take more direct steering, body control etc.
Thanks
@Hondata - where would a Canadian FL5 running Petro-Canada 94 octane fuel fit into the Hondata maps - would we run a 93 map? Is there a 94 map for Canucks? I can't recall the ethanol content in their 94...
Thx
AWESOME! Hadn’t seen that. Agile Handling Assist makes performance sense, but I went through two sets of OEM rear pads in the time it took the original OEM front pads to get down to about 30/35% left - daily driving only and a couple mild AutoX events.
I read I think in the FL5 documentation...
If it's any help, in my limited track experience, and this was with the FK8 not my FL5 - reducing VSA/TC in Comfort/Sport/Individual is similar calibration to what VSA/TC *ON* is like in +R mode. So just going to +R in the first place reduces the intervention of the systems a bit. Then you can...
Good info thanks!
In times when the car was asking for a connection I had some luck by tethering to my phone - but the whole Local/Server thing and transferring to and from the phone seems convoluted.
Thanks again
Does anyone have experience using LogR video-overlay function? I want to record video in the LogR app and then overlay the driving data onto the video. Can't find any tutorial on this anywhere and can't seem to get it to work.
Thanks,
Evan
I had an FK8 for 5y and 56,000km, incl. winters in Canada. Now have FL5 for about 3mo.
Both are really great cars - FL5 is more serious in how it goes about its business. Somewhat firmer ride in all modes, but still very impressive damping quality.
Interior is a huge step forward on FL5 if...
Agree with the previous posts - I have the Alcantara wheel installed on the car and it really adds to the special-feeling of the car. I do daily it, and I plan to keep it as clean as possible.
I have the shifter too - it's never been installed (came with the car) - happy to sell to you for a v...
Agreed - ok I'm convinced.
Same logic applies to the home-audio hobby when isolating vibrations from components. Speaker design as well - gotta have an inert cabinet so that the only movement in the entire speaker system is driver itself - the intended sound. No 'other' sounds stemming from the...
Perfect - thank you for that extra review! lol
It all makes engineering sense to me - I guess my only unknown is whether or not it'll create/reveal NVH that is un-wanted. Typically, there's always a trade-off when you start to stiffen things up - with these rigid collars - it doesn't seem like...
@DagCTR - would you be able to elaborate a little more on the effect these had on your FK8? The more detail the better! I would be putting on an FL5 but lived with an FK8 for 5years.
The above review was good - but the more info the better.
Thanks
