Sorry to hear man. I know the heart wants what the heart wants, but would you now take an incoming ITS if your Acura dealer calls you about an available unit?
I love my FL5, but would’ve been thrilled with the DE5 as well. I had deposits down at two local Acura dealers, and was next in line at one of them. I could’ve had my pick of any incoming colour and likely would’ve chosen Apex Blue or Lunar Silver, to get the black interior with red stitching...
I’ve met Zack while he and Brian were off to the side of the road preparing their road test segment of a car here locally. Good guy, and glad to see his channel has really taken off since bringing his wife Andrea into the fold.
No disrespect to lot boys, but I’m genuinely surprised that a (junior) mechanic would foolishly risk their job/career like that - Given the prompt communications taken by the GM, that guy is probably shitting bricks now, and for good reason. Seems like it’s usually the lot boys you hear about...
There’s a mention on the window itself saying the light transmission is greater than, or equal to 70%. I guess it could be brighter than 70% tint from the factory. If my math is mathing, your 50% front tint combined with a 70% front factory tint equates to around a 35% outcome.
I think Acura completely hit a home run with the ITS as a daily driver, as evidenced by all the accolades by the media / motoring press. Man, I really love that black interior with the contrasting red baseball stitching. I don’t want to know what I’m missing either with the ELS 16-speaker...
I wouldn’t fault anyone for doing that actually, especially if intended as a daily driver that will see commuting mileage and winter salt. I’d hate to subject my FL5 to the aforementioned conditions, and would have to keep my beater alongside it in the stable. But with the ITS, I would sell my...
Great to hear of your positive experience with that dealership! Ooh Michelin Alpin are the dream winter tires for me - dare I ask how much it cost? Did you need to size up to 265/35/19?
I see that TE37 Saga S-Plus are now available in 19x9.5, and +55 is an option. What are the pros and cons of going with et55 instead of more aggressive et45 besides looks?
Considering the more conservative offset to stay closer to stock geometry. Will the +55 have a significant advantage in...
If you care about the Type R pedigree and the rarity in Canada, I’d go with the FL5 especially if you like the seats. $5k difference isn’t huge, but also consider luxury tax if that applies where you are - that would bump the difference up more than $5k.
I do find the stock exhaust very...
I’m glad the ITS exists, as I’ll eventually be swapping the ITS’ damper module into my FL5. I’m still breaking it in so haven’t pushed it at all, but it’s disappointing that Honda overdamped the FL5’s dampers that badly (if judging by the myriad of videos and opinions available now).
I also...
I found it difficult to get into reverse last time I drove it, and I was at a standstill. Been driving manual Hondas for over 20 years. Hoping it’s a problem that won’t happen again, especially after break-in period.
