WORKAROUND:
even though i cannot display a map for any location in the LogR car display, i can create a new location using the iOS app and synch that location with the car. this location, and others already loaded in the car, will capture lap data automatically. i tested this successfully.

tezza... very nice instructions, thank you..
- did you have to remove the brake pads when you removed the rotor?
- did you use an impact driver on the rotor retaining screw?
interestingly, the whiteline instructions don't remove the rotor. they call for a lot of loosening including the "inner...
my hot temps for 80 degree ambient and 130 degree track were 42 front and 36 rear. i'll boost the rears in my next event.
i asked tezza about his install. i can't visualize which ball joint is being replaced. the replacement joints appear to pressure fit and my thought is removing the...
tezza... thank you for your post, very encouraging. 1-hour install per corner sounds great and that's where i need help.
does the long end of the ball joint pressure fit into the the lower control arm? if so, doesn't removing the old joint "loosen" the fitting for the new joint?
do you...
for no reason, LogR doesn't allow me to create a new location and control line. up to now, LogR was great. i have three track locations that have worked over 6 track-day events.
now i get the message: "Please connect network for displaying the map."
i have done the following:
- restarted...
this conversation has gotten very technical but i think the takeaway is different ball joints will provide more camber with hardrace as the better choice.
i definitely need more camber! i pulled the pins and had the toe aligned after my first track day. five track days later with rotations...
another event with air temp around 68 and oil temps around 240 driving moderately hard.
i can't say how much the mod helps but temps feel subjectively better.
for me, i think ambient and aggressiveness are the main factors. my ambients have been low and i drive conservatively.
in the end...
i pulled the pins and had the car aligned to -1.8 with zero toe and factory caster.
after 5 track days my stock tires have apparent shoulder wear but they don't look like they are cut at an angle. i rotate after every event and do a side to side every 3. my tracks (thompson and lime rock) are...
thanks for the feedback. i will be testing the mod again this week with fresh Castrol Syntec vs Mobil 1.
even 5-10 degree savings is better than nothing.
will see...
for my most recent track day, i removed the water shield under the hood vent, and the rubber weather stripping between the wiper housing and the engine bay.
my max oil temp was 246F during lap 5 in the second (fastest for me) session with an ambient of 67F, and me driving hard.
the previous...
nice vid and congrats on the win... good stuff!
i did autocross for two seasons in my gti and it's not for me. not enough seat time though the social aspect is good.
i had my third track day at Thompson last Thursday... good session. i improved my time by .8 seconds in a shortened event. a...
the error occurs when you don't have phone data to synch with the video. here are the instructions...
- upload log data from the car to your app
- go to the video section in the app
- select the recorded video you wish to sync with the data
- choose synchronize
- pick the overlay elements you...
same extended crank for me, twice. i depressed the start button each time, tried again, and had a good start.
no fault lights and no obd codes, temporary or stored. i will call my dealer to see if there's a TSB.
