It would have been nice to plastigauge that one rod bearing and see where the tolerance lies in relation to the others. Cloudiness is bearing material smearing on the surface likely. Bearings are some what sacrificial in a way. Really hard to measure roundness insitu however.
Money shift is almost always an issue of improper hand position, but also a testament to their smooth gearboxes. Typically a cracked retainer in Hondas of yesteryear.
edit: just curious, you never heard the noise before?
That’s tough how it played out. Best of luck to you under that tough circumstance. Now the question is, does the dealer disclose the situation to the prospective buyer :/
yea true about the oil changes, but will the OP start doing his own work now? Unlikely.
the denial of warranty based on a tune will always be used by a dealer regardless of this issue happening or not. Nobody can prove anything either way. But if the dealer is saying the car ok (whatever that...
I get that you had to let them (it looks like they only took off the valve cover) and herein lies the question of what is normal looking. The thing is that taking off the cam caps doesn’t show you any surfaces that would be fed pressurized oil in the bottom end, which I believe to be under more...
Shit happens, it will probably be ok but I definitely wouldn’t want them poking around and taking it apart, that would likely be more detrimental. Cut open the old filter if they still have it and look for bearing material. Can you get a 10 year warranty?
I think or hope we all have those lying...
Who with this issue has verified correct clutch pedal free play adjustment? (Don’t rely on the dealer to do this) also turn off auto rev matching, learn how to drive the car. A clutch delay valve will cause pedal inconsistencies and lack feedback
Typically it is detrimental to the engine. On some Hondas in the past, it would lead to cracking of the valve stem retainers. Not sure if the ecu logs max rpm, but you can calculate rpm in gear if you know what road speed was. I would try to isolate where exactly noise is coming from. Verdict...
Air somewhere. Did you let the master get low? New copper washers?
this is why checking pedal pressure after each corner helps pin point which corner the problem lies.
