Sick! They look awesome. If you go that route I can't recommend Schroth Harnesses enough. If you get the good ones they feel like OEM belts and not the rough material that scratches your neck like most other brands. Bonus is their US importer is in North Carolina so should be easy for you to get.
You're accident convinced me to buy the Simpson 3-point compatible head/neck restraint. Been eyeing it for years for instructing but kept being cheap about it.
I just got an adapter for the oil drain plug. So far it seems pretty close. I have only driven it once though. The factory readout got up to 180 a few minutes sooner than the gauge did but by the time I got back to the shop they were within about 10 degrees of each other with the factory readout...
Unfortunately I don't plan on getting that deep into it. I just want to know how accurate the OEM read out is so I can make a decision on an oil cooler. After the track weekend I'll be removing the gauge.
I installed an Oil Temp Gauge in my car temporarily for a track event this weekend. Will update with how close the factory readout is compared to the gauge. My car is stock with the only variable being that I have 5-30 oil in it instead of 0-20.
I finally got around to installing an oil temp gauge that I have left over from my old turbo Gs-R. It’s temporary so zip ties and shady wiring were involved. I’m going to use it next weekend at the track just to see how accurate the factory gauge is. If the OE guesstimate in the LogR screen is...
When you try bleeding the brakes again do it with the car running. Sometimes the vacuum assist will help with moving the air bubbles through the system.
For my first event I ran a Performance Friction pad on the front and had terrible brake shake. So bad that I thought I had a wheel coming loose. Swapped back to the stock pads to finish the weekend. The next time I took it out I put on Hawk endurance pads and no more issues. I still don’t know...
Shameless plug for OG Racing. They are a sponsor of our race series and are good people. Usually competitive pricing on all things safety related. Your video has seriously got me thinking about going there to pick up the Simpson and selling my Hans.
Glad you enjoyed it! The FL5 is right at home doing track days. I agree with you about the exhaust level with a helmet on. The fake engine noise is almost a necessity on track with a factory exhaust.
